I am really excited about this blaster. The Nerf Elite 2.0 Motoblitz is one of the better releases from Hasbro in a long time, combining a Rayven with a master-keyed Hornet-like air blaster up front. That being said, some simple mods can take this flywheeler to the next level. What’s this guy doing, not reviewing blasters? Well, he’s busy modding, modeling, and doing general community service! Eyewear recommended (not included). Accessories sold separately, subject to availability. Requires 4x 1.5v AA alkaline batteries (not included). I did note that our 6-round mags from another blaster would not work with it--this is because there's a little plastic notch cut out on those mags (akin to the old read-only tab you'd break off of a VHS cassette--yes, I'm that old) and they don't engage the trigger-enable lever up inside the blaster's magazine slot. Those mags can be modified to work by glueing some plastic or cardboard (perhaps a chopped bit of old credit card) into the notch on the upper rear of the mag. See picture. I might do a few other mods, including cutting it down to more of a CQB blaster, painting it, and maybe cramming an XBZ into the scope for a different blitz style. To make it easier for novice and experienced modders alike, we’ve added marks on our flywheel cage indicating how to orient your motors and where the positive and negative wires get soldered. It’s been a while since Hasbro made a blaster that had multiple functions, decent performance, and a nice price point. For those who tinker, it even offers a ton of modding potential (that part, while nice, is out of the scope of the review score). I speak of the Motoblitz, a bullpup-style blaster featuring a front-mounted, air-powered shotgun. It hits the Elite standard, has a neat secondary function, feels great to use, and it possibly the best Nerf offering this year (barring some unforeseen release). Use a heat gun or the side of your soldering iron to shrink the heat shrink onto the wires. Stretch the large bit of heat shrink and also shrink that over the connector to provide further protection and strain relief.

Trim away all the webbing inside the battery door as marked in sharpie here. Just cut it flush and trim or file down any rough edges left by the snips. MOTORIZED BLASTING: Launch 10 darts in a row with motorized Nerf blasting! Now to convert the Motoblitz to accept short darts. This part is entirely optional but also incredibly simple. The short dart pusher rotates and snaps onto the existing pusher. Then add a bit of hot glue near the joining part to secure it more permanently. File down the front corner of your short dart adapter at a 45-degree angle, so it doesn’t collide with your shell, and test both the adapter and magazine for fit.
