About this deal

Combat Patrol uses simpler, one-side versions of the datasheet. You’ll also notice the red flash at the top of the Combat Patrol sheets – so you know you’re using the right one The box also contains three Tyranid Warriors, perfect for helping the Hive Tyrant direct your Termagants toward their prey. Strong, swift, and among the Hive Mind’s most adaptable breeds – no invasion would be complete without these intelligent bioforms to anchor the swarm. In addition to your mission’s shared primary objective, every Combat Patrol can also choose between a pair of secondary objectives that let you define how you play. Wrath of the Emperor has you send your juggernaut Captain right into the fray, spraying guts and ichor with storm bolter and power sword, scoring 2VP for each phase in which he kills any models. The Word Bearers trilogy by Anthony Reynolds follows the arch-traitor Space Marines as they navigate the 41st Millennium in search of ever-greater power, using every means at their disposal. Even the really, really gnarly ones. Should your prey prove to be more slippery than expected, assemble the kit as a Norn Assimilator and drag their cowardly hides into the dirt with razor-sharp toxinjector harpoons. This variant trades psychic powers for all-out damage. Deathleaper

Get Ready to Gorge on the Galaxy with Combat Patrol: Tyranids

Naturally, that’s the full Hive Tyrant kit. Which means you can opt for the version you see on the box or you can go with something else. There’s the classic Winged Hive Tyrant (or Flyrant) and even the Swarmlord if you want to name drop. Whichever option you choose, it’s an HQ worth it’s biomass. I hope you enjoyed this, how would you build a 1,000 point list from the Combat Patrol Box? There may well be aspects of the codex or units that I have not included that you think should be, so why not let us know in the comments below. However he makes a great painting opportunity and a good model to practice on before you do the Swarmlord. Tervigon

When panic and sabotage need to be sown on a wider scale, Lictors are the Hive Mind’s weapon of choice. They are agile and stealthy creatures, and slip through the defensive lines to slaughter valuable targets Neurolictor On top of all that you’re also going to get your hands on 3 Tyranid Warriors. These medium-sized bugs are great for lots of things. They can provide some extra direction for your little guys and can be equipped for a variety of different roles. They really are quite utilitarian. Not only that but this bumper boxed set is fantastic for experienced Tyranid players who are looking to bulk out there swarm with a swarm of fresh fodder. Everything you need to play Combat Patrol – apart from the miniatures – will be available for free online when the new edition launches. Introducing a friend to the world of Warhammer 40,000 with the help of your collection has never been easier. You could even set up your own Combat Patrol event, or why not go wide and collect one Combat Patrol from every faction? Welcome to the Tyranids! This is part of the issue with list building for them. They have a lot of really fun and thematic options that you might not get to run all of them in a single list. If you’re a new player this can honestly be overwhelming. But, again, the Combat Patrol is something you can build from as you add models to your collection. And you’re always going to have too many ‘gaunts. That’s just how it works. There are so many ways you can diverge from this Combat Patrol…but we have to stop somewhere.

The core principle is simple – each Combat Patrol has been given a full set of self-contained rules that define it on the table. This includes datasheets, but also secondary objectives, faction rules, Enhancements, and Stratagems, all flavoured to match that force’s narrative – and balanced against every other Combat Patrol.* I am new to 40K and getting started with some old Tyranid miniatures I owned as well as a few new ones. I would like to start by making a Combat Patrol and trying a small game locally. I created the list below and I wanted to know what you think. I have a few other units I can substitute, I have 8 more Genestealers, 10 Devourer Gaunts, lots of Hormagaunts, and also a Tyrannofex with Acid Spray. My plan with Strategic Adaptation was to have the Trygon and Genestealers start in reserve. Then the Trygon would bring in the Genestealers from deep strike. Warriors will try to get objectives with Gaunts to screen them. I am worried the Trygon is taking up too many points for a Combat Patrol. You could get another box of Termagaunts for his once per battle, but yours are going to die getting to the enemy so you’ll be fine. Tyranid Warriors
