The main 'Let’s Get Started' booklet contains all the information you will need to know to effectively operate your machine. The smaller guide, attached to the machine, contains condensed information on assembly and operation. I opted to read the main booklet, as this was the first Vax product I had used, although I have used other carpet cleaners before. Following cleaning the carpets, I only had enough cleaning solution to clean one more small area, so I decided to test it on the cream cushion on our dining table bench. This is where our eldest sits to have his meals, do crafts and play, so it was covered in a variety of food matter, paint and dried play dough. Many of the best upholstery cleaners had been pitched against the mess, but while they're great for the odd small stain, I needed something to do the whole bench which was discoloured from the dirt. The addition of an extra set of tools for messy cleaning is a good idea, because there won’t be many who will be happy to use the same floorhead they’ve used to clean up pet mess for spot cleaning a stain on their expensive sofa.

Renowned for vacuum cleaners, Vax's range of carpet cleaners are also prized for their cleaning power. Its smaller spot cleaners are designed to offer the same level of cleaning but with the addition of portability.A spot cleaner is great option for dealing with minor day-to-day stains, rather than having to pull out a full carpet cleaner. While most work in a similar fashion, the Vax SpotWash Home Duo comes with two sets of tools: one for dealing with messy stains, with the other for more regular dirt. A few days after testing the Vax SpotWash on the carpet and cushion, I had to unexpectedly use it again, but this time for a spill. My youngest had put his drink bottle on our play mat and it had left a large puddle. Meanwhile, my eldest had done the same in the lounge, so I used the SpotWash without cleaner and just the suction, as it was just water that had spilled. This worked perfectly and both the play mat and carpet were left feeling dry in no time. Machine cleaning and maintenance For any content that you submit, you grant Vax a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable right and license to use, copy, modify, delete in its entirety, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from and/or sell and/or distribute such content and/or incorporate such content into any form, medium or technology throughout the world without compensation to you. The SpotWash can be used on your car's carpets and fabric upholstery (avoid using it on leather) and it was incredibly effective at not only removing visible stains but also refreshing the overall look of the fabric.

The only real issue stems from its compact design. As it's designed for cleaning smaller areas, you’ll probably spend longer cleaning a floor with this than you would when using a more traditional carpet cleaner. However, the obvious upside to the spot cleaner is that you can use the SpotWash to clean fabric sofas, upholstered chairs and even cushions, something that isn’t easily done with a traditional upright carpet washer.That is, or may reasonably be considered to be, defamatory, libelous, hateful, racially or religiously biased or offensive, unlawfully threatening or unlawfully harassing to any individual, partnership or corporation; The self-clean function efficiently flushes the hose clean after use to help remove dirt and debris.

Sure, you can take it down to your local hand-wash but the price for a proper interior valet can be hard to swallow, and a full-sized carpet cleaner will be too big to fit in anything smaller than a Volkswagen Grand California. Unlike my vacuum-style carpet cleaner, the Vax SpotWash is compact and slimline, meaning it fits comfortably in my storage spaces, without taking up much room at all. The hose wraps neatly around the base of the machine and the power cord is stored tidily on the cable hooks. Manoeuvrability and noiseAntimicrobial treated bristles help prevent the growth of bacteria between uses for a hygienic clean time after time. Vax does offer a cordless spot cleaner but the trade-off is that this one will only work for 15 minutes at a time between charges while the corded one can work until you run out of cleaning product.
