We also do loud and quiet voices while reading this story and have enjoyed looking at day and night. A lovely bedtime story which also makes a great addition to a foundation / key stage one classroom library. This book was given to my daughter, who was 16 months at the time. I thought it might be too old for her but she brings it to me every day saying 'WOW'. She absolutely loves it. Little owl is the only character in the book and thestorystarts by explaining that owls stayawake during thenight before it introduces little owl’s very ‘un-owl-like’ behaviour. Throughout the day little owlsees seven different colours, some in the sky, some in the trees and flowers but also when it gets dark.A young owl stays awake all day so she can see all the colors of the day. So excited was she that she stayed awake all tonight too and discovered that nighttime is just as beautiful, if not more so, than the daylight.
