About this deal

The One Step is extremely intuitive to use – simply brush it steadily through damp hair, allowing time for the jets of hot air to do their work, and simultaneously roll the hair in the direction you like. The whole process feels effortless, and takes just minutes. Our shoulder-length curly hair was left in big and bouncy waves after just over ten minutes of drying. The ultimate blow-dry brush, the One-Step Volumizer PLUS gives you shiny, smooth, salon-quality results for beautifully healthy-looking hair. Winner of the 2022 Glamour Best Blow-Dry Brush award, this volumizing dryer will forever change your styling routine. Charcoal-Infused Nylon Bristles: Refreshes second-day styles and smooths hair’s cuticle for glossy results.

You may also see the One Step volumizer PLUS has bright red stripes on the sides, which is different than the regular Revlon one-step brush that uses pink color. The Revlon Hair Dryer Brush PLUS Has 4 Heat Settings There is a big upgrade inside of the handle of the Revlon PLUS, they claim that a few users who bought the old Revlon One-Step said their brushes stopped working after a few months. So this time the Revlon One-Step PLUS is equipped with an upgraded motor, which is said to be 40% more long-lasting than the old one. Styling Performance Comparison Blowdrying and heat-styling hair will always introduce an element of damage, but by reducing the total time spent styling and including hydrating ionic technology, the One Step aims to reduce heat damage and promote hair health as well as giving hair a salon-worthy blowdry finish. Revlon One Step: Price and competition Even on the lowest of the two speed/temperature settings, the Revlon Pro dried our medium-length fine hair in an impressive three minutes and four seconds, which goes some way to negating its heavy, bulky design – as you won’t need to be using it for long. Its large size also means you can dry and style large sections of hair in one go. What’s more, because it styles as it dries, our arms didn’t ache from holding a brush and separate dryer at awkward angles – as is the case with some of its rivals – and we didn’t have to do anything to finish our style once it was dry, saving even more time.

Works well, doesn't flatten hair

If you can’t stand the annoying loud noise caused by hot air dryer brushes, well, I’m sorry to let you know this new Revlon brush PLUS doesn’t have improvements in this aspect. The drying noise is as loud as the original model. I thought the smaller/slimmer size can help in reducing some of the noise levels after I turned it on, but the result was not as expected. Revlon PLUS’s Motor Is More Durable They feature the same oval design but the Revlon PLUS is slimmer. And the handle of the new Revlon Plus is slightly longer than the old version. And one of the advantages of the compact design of the new Revlon dryer is that it becomes much more lightweight, and you will not get tired even after holding it for a long time. We didn’t see a noticeable difference in drying times on the hotter, faster setting and would often dry on the slower mode to help prevent causing damage to our hair. The faster setting is also incredibly loud, annoyingly so. In terms of decibels, it’s not drastically different to rivals but the tone of the sound is sharp and grating.

The One Step does feel slightly bulky in the hand, and the large size of the brush makes getting to the roots something of a trial – the key here is to divide the hair into smaller sections and flip the hair away from its usual direction. The ends curled under beautifully with minimal effort, and the whole process really did feel amazingly easy given the quality of the results. It gives a long-lasting effect, too – hair that we washed and styled in the morning was still looking great that evening, and even into the next day. The same Brush designed with Nylon Pin & Tufted Bristles for detangling, improved volume and control. Unique Oval Brush Design for Smoothing the Hair, while the Round Edges Create Volume. 1100-Watt power provides just the right heat. Unlike conventional hair dryers, this volumizer can be placed closer to the scalp for lift. 3 Heat/Speed Settings for Styling Flexibility heat/2 speed settings including cool shot, cool tip and 3m tangle-free swivel cord, dual plug UK/EU adaptor, ideal for travel. The new One-Step PLUS did create pretty shiny finishes and sleek texture, but I didn’t feel it’s way better than the original One-Step brush in this comparison, the final results looked similar. Another thing that I need to mention is that the new PLUS brush is as hot as my old dryer brush (maybe even hotter?), so I can’t visually see the difference between the hair damage. It’s Worth The Higher Price? YES! I hate spending hours drying and then styling my hair and this one step hair dryer is a game changer. The Revlon one step dryer combines a hair dryer with a round hairbrush so you can dry your hair and style it at the same time. It is a genius idea.

The best

Revlon shared some interesting things when it talked about the new Revlon One-Step brush: they compared the new model to the old model and they said the new PLUS model can deliver 75% shinier blowouts and 50% less heat exposure. To avoid passing the tool through the hair multiple times, it’s best to towel- or air-dry hair to around 80% dry before using the One Step, then section and spritz with a heat protector spray to avoid damage from the heated barrel. One thing that saves time with the tool is you won’t need to brush or detangle hair first (unless it’s very tangled) as the two sets of bristles do that effectively. If a little more care had been put into the design of the Revlon Pro and its motor wasn’t so annoyingly loud, we’d happily recommend it over more expensive rivals, such as the GHD Air, because it’s performance is just so good. Unless we’re looking to rough dry our hair or style it differently, the Revlon Pro is our go-to dryer. Both the new and old Revlon One-Step dryer allows users to adjust heat settings conveniently in the middle of the drying & styling process. One difference is that the Revlon PLUS dryer brush features 4 heat settings (low, medium, high & cool), which is more flexible than the original model. And I’ve tested the heat from both products, and I felt the Revlon Plus in its highest setting was a bit hotter than the original model. Sorry, The New Model Is Still Noisy The One Step’s design is simplicity itself. It’s a moderately large round brush with a 3-metre power cord, and a single switch controls combined heat and airflow. Using the product couldn’t be simpler: plug in at the mains, set the switch to your selected heat setting, and off you go. Section the hair, start near the roots, and gently pull the One Step through the hair to create tension as it dries, just as your hairdresser would with a round brush and hair-dryer, but all in one tool and in one hand.
