To rate the tyre shine formulas within our roundup, we based our recommendations on testing, our experience of using multiple formulas, the latest research and several factors. Some of the factors that we took into consideration included the formula’s finish, ease of application, durability and value for money. With it being a tad more expensive than Instant Tyre Dressing, the question is, does it still offer good value for money? I would say it does. The fact that it lasts longer, it means you’ll be getting more out of the bottle than you would with other products.

To give you an idea of how easy tyre shine is to apply, we also posted a video on our YouTube channel that shows us testing the Meguiar’s Endurance Gel. As you can see, we were able to cover a large 21-inch tyre in less than a minute. Keeping your car exterior clean is a great way to take care of the aesthetic of your car as well as its longevity. Follow our step by step guide.
Whether you treat your tyres while they’re wet or dry rather depends on the amount of time you have at your disposal, and also the overall effect you want. Instant Tyre Dressing can be applied equally effectively to both wet and dry rubber, which makes it perfect to apply if you are short on time; simply spray on an even coating and the durable polymer silicone protectants will go to work. This is silicon-based product that you spray on and leave to cure. It leaves a really high shine on tyres and also did a fine job of restoring depth of colour to our faded plastic trim. It lasted best of all of our products, although we wouldn’t say that it lived up to the claims of it providing eight to 12 weeks of shine. Even so, it’s excellent stuff if a bit expensive.
