About this deal

She was conceived on land instead of underwater, so that’s why she has siren abilities but is mostly human. She says no, tearfully or whatever because she’s all scared White Bread Personality Loverboy is going to get hurt. It has everything from a badass crew of female pirates to a smoking hot love interest to a captain who'd rather give up her own life than see her beloved crew perish. We continue to follow Alosa and Riden as Alosa explores her powers and discovers dark secrets about her family as she struggles with her growing feelings for Riden.

The two girls left, hand by hand and they were excited to watch a movie together and about the book? With her father's entire fleet on her heels, her only chance at defeating him is to control her siren nature, and use it to save her crew. We shall see if I actually pick it up or not though as this book has made me very hesitant about picking her other works. I was hooked from start to finish, and even though I would have loved to read more about Alosa, Riden and their crew, I feel like this is a worthy ending to an epic adventure. As miserable as my experience with this was, I do plan to read this author's other book in the future The Shadows Between Us, but my expectations have been considerably lowered. Daughter of the Siren Queen was enchanting, and while I'll never wield a sword or become a badass lady pirate or kiss Riden *cue ear-piercing wail*, I got a taste of mindblowing adventures thanks to Alosa, I became a part of her crew and I fell in love, and I did all those things without risking my life or getting eaten by cannibals! We’re in a world full of pirates and they’re both pirates and even if this sounds dull: they have other rules/tradition/socializing. Any who, it all worked out in the end because they made-up and set rules between them and whatnot, so the progression of their relationship was nice to see. This was the first time I've stayed up late to finish a book in a while 😅 It was completely accidental, but I really enjoyed the story and couldn't put it down so here we are 🤷 This seems to keep happening to me with pirate books!

They do the funnest stuff, including, but not limited to: swashbuckling, gallivanting, swaggering, swordfighting, roughhousing, drinking, bantering, and nefarious plotting. Alosa's character definitely reminds me of Jack Sparrow and I absolutely adore the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. She is such a good character even though she appears to be this tough, heartless person to other people. When Vordan exposes a secret the Pirate King has kept hidden for years, Alosa and her crew find themselves in a deadly race against her ruthless father. After reading a few reviews by some of the best Goodreads-reviewers, I was really really unsure about the romance in this book.
