About this deal

Despite being a mid-range TV, Hisense promises best-in-class overall video and audio from the U7HQ. This model supports all HDR formats and boasts a wide colour range. There’s also a game mode for PC and console users. If you’re willing to spend a bit more for an even better piece of kit, the Samsung AU9000 review (50AU9000) was rated five stars in its T3 review. While it may not have Dolby Vision, it does have great picture performance from most sources. Watch the action unfold seamlessly with Smooth Motion: reducing blur and screen lag for clearer, more fluid scenes

The gaming performance is generally good, within the limitations of the A6G’s innate abilities. The low input lag certainly results in a responsive experience, and playing a first-person shooter like Call of Duty on the PS5 reveals detailed 4K images and smooth 60Hz motion. The limited colour gamut still looks suitably punchy, and only the mediocre tone-mapping disappoints, producing a tendency to clip highlights. On the plus side, there’s no risk of screen burn with the LCD panel. Hisense A6G (50A6G) review: Sound quality While the Hisense A6G is a solid performer with SDR, it’s more of a mixed bag when it comes to HDR. For a start, it’s very dim for an HDR TV, with a peak brightness of around 300cd/m² on both a 10% window and full-field in Dynamic mode. In the more accurate Cinema mode, this luminance drops to 250cd/m² on both a 10% and a full-field pattern. This Hisense TV delivers entertainment for everyone – with picture quality that must be seen to be believed. Buy the 65A7GQTUK from Euronics today. Hisense has been making inroads in the UK market with its affordable and feature laden TVs over the past few years, and its latest range is its most ambitious set. Hisense has included Dolby Vision support, and it’s with less capable displays like the A6G’s that the format’s dynamic metadata really shows its benefits. It allows HDR content to be mapped more precisely to the display’s capabilities, and watching exactly the same test material in Dolby Vision reveals HDR images free of any clipping and with saturated but natural-looking colours. To test the Hisense A6G we used Portrait Displays Calman colour calibration software. Hisense (50A6G) LED review: Gaming Let’s start with what’s good. The bezel is discreet enough to not intrude on the TV viewing experience, and the depth of the set is just 78mm without the stand, making it appreciatively slim in appearance. The remote is a similar effort to previous and a slight improvement as it doesn’t attempt to cram as many buttons into a small space. Features The Hisense A6G includes a pair of downward-firing speakers, each of which has 8W of built-in amplification. As you would expect from a modern TV, the slim chassis precludes the use of larger speakers, and the amplification is clearly limited. As a result, the audio performance is perfunctory at best, and the reality is that even a simple single-unit soundbar will deliver a higher quality sonic experience with content like TV shows, movies and games. Quantum Dot: Over a billion true-to-life colours for smoother gradients and vivid reds, greens and blues

Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying a live scene and white square taking up 10% of the screen (measured in Nits)

That’s it for the 2022 Hisense TV models announced so far. Below are the 2021 models that are still on sale online and in-store. Hisense TV 2021 U9GQ The L5F is the second of two Laser TVs that have been introduced for 2022. This model takes advantage of an Ultra Short Throw Laser to produce a 4K Ultra HD image. The interface is separated into several sections, but apps is where the action is. The app selection is focused rather than bountiful; Netflix has pride of place on the top row and all the UK catch-up apps are covered (as Freeview Play), with Disney+ and Britbox available also. There’s VIDAA Free, which rounds up a selection of free content from the likes of Plex, Vevo, YouTube and Facebook Watch for more options.
