Never Never by Colleen Hoover | Goodreads

Part 3 of Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher concludes with Silas and Charlie realizing that the common factor that causes them to lose their memories is not loving the other person. Unless you were an avid romance reader, you might not have known the name Colleen Hoover before 2021. In addition to the romance genre, Colleen Hoover books also fit the psychological thriller, paranormal fiction and suspense genres. Who Would Like Colleen Hoover Books? Ummm??? Is this an actual joke? How did I FINISH the book and still have no idea what happened??? Why it happened??? Like how do you write a mystery book or whatever this book is supposed to be but my point is nothing about this book was that great. Everything was mediocre, the writing, the characters even the plot the only reason I kept reading was because I was waiting for the punch line ok you got me why did they lose their memories??? But the entire book is the same thing over and over again idk who I am and then the book ends and there’s no explanation of why any of it even happened? What was the FREAKING point?!?!? Colleen, Tarryn listen—— I just wanna talk: 🤦‍♀️ I feel like I must have missed something but idk what lmao. send help. I am flabbergasted. Baffled. Annoyed. I feel like I wasted my time. What I found interesting about Part 2 is that the main characters are losing their memories for the second time, but the supporting characters are still in the current time. This means that to the other characters, Silas in particular appears mentally unstable. He forgets how to play football… twice. He forgets his name… twice. He’s meeting his younger brother… twice. To the outside world, however, this is just making Silas look more and more unhinged. The third and final installment in the Slammed trilogy, This Girl takes the familiar story and turns it on its head, with the story unfolding from Will’s perspective, rather than Layken’s. The couple continues to struggle with the shadows of Will’s past, balancing the weight of that with the hope of their future. Here Colleen Hoover has emerged with a new story based on Sky, a high school senior who has her first romantic encounter with Dean Holder, a boy with a reputation and a mysterious past. Writing about dealing with people who have devastating pasts is very current theme for Colleen.

Merit retreats deeper into herself, watching her family from the sidelines, when she learns a secret that no trophy in the world can fix. Notably, Silas finds a letter and begins to get some clues as to how the two should move forward in a world where everyone surrounding them knows them, yet he and Charlie don’t recognize a single soul or, more concerning, themselves. Beyah’s plan is to keep her head down and let the summer slip by seamlessly, but her new neighbor Samson throws a wrench in that plan. As all good writers realize, she writes what she knows – family, friendship, change, and especially love. Her plots and characters have immense appeal among young women readers, and she sets her characters in modern day situations of friendship, new relationships, first love, and heartbreak. Slammed

They begin to put some pieces together simply by interacting with various people: They learn that they are a couple, that their families seem to have some bad blood, and that they each have one sibling. Perhaps because this story was largely written as one of Hoover’s earlier books, or perhaps because Tarryn Fisher co-wrote it, it should be noted that this is not a typical Colleen Hoover book. The fast-paced, spicy romance that made Hoover the viral sensation we know and love is not featured in this novel. This may have something to do with me preferring novels and scenarios that could actually happen in real life, so cycles of memory loss seem a bit far-fetched for me and I found it more difficult to connect with the storyline.

The third installment in Colleen Hoover’s immensely popular series has the story told from the point of view of Will, Layken’s love in the original two books. This is a genuine story of young newlyweds, and the years of discovery still going on between these two beloved characters. The title, Slammed, is a reference to poetry readings which are called “Slammings” at coffee houses and cafes where they are featured. In this story we meet Layken, an 18 year old forced into the new setting of small town Michigan after being raised in Texas. This book is for you if… you enjoy young adult fantasy with a lot of bitter-sweet romance, a cute male main character and a strong lead heroine. This book may be for you even if you didn't appreciate other Colleen Hoover books. The sequel to Hopeless, Losing Hope unravels Dean’s guilt-ridden past and his early childhood encounters with a troubled Sky.Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents could devastate the already grieving father. Part 2 of Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher begins with Silas and Charlie losing their memories all over again, thereby not knowing anyone they just interacted with in Part 1 and, quite eerily, not even knowing themselves. This novel follows the little-bit-strange Voss family, who live in a repurposed church, through the eyes of Merit Voss, the youngest Voss child. Her mother, having recovered from cancer, lives in the basement while her father lives upstairs with his new wife, her mother’s former nurse. When Merit meets the witty Sagan at an antique shop, she is pushed to reveal her family’s dark secrets and choose herself. Created by Hoover and her sisters, it is an annual event where readers have a chance to meet their favorite authors and raise money for charity. With only two short months separating her from the future she’s built and the past she desperately wants to leave behind, an unexpected loss leaves Beyah with no place to go during the interim.
