About this deal

Well, the drydown changed everything. At this point the fragrance was at its best. Definitely oldschool, definitely barbershop-ish, but not in a bad way. I smelled more pleasant woody notes, oakmoss, bit of vanilla and it gave a super masculine vibe.

Miris prividne jednostavnosti i prikrivene kompleksnosti čije otkrivanje zahtijeva upornost i želju, te iskustvo uz prstohvat dobre volje. Samo je naizgled razočaravajuć i daje puno više nego se doima. So if I was being generous, Lalique is at most 75% similar to BDP. The 25% or more difference is what makes the Lalique more modern - it has a certain buttery smoothness as it drydowns (maybe due to the Iris & Vanilla) and it eventually has a smooth shaving cream finish to it which the Creed also has but you can tell the combination of synthetics/naturals used to create that effect are different in each. This fragrance makes me happy. I should update this review in summer, but in my opinion this is a very versatile all-season, all-occasion fragrance. It is not very loud and would be considered a great office safe scent. At the same time, performance is not bad. I would consider it average in the performance category. The smell stays pretty long as the skin scent.

Just bought this. EDP version / Lion Head. I don't know what is happening but the longevity is absolutely minimal, I'd say I get 1-2 hours the most, but that is pushing it. So say deodorant spray level, not even close to EDC. I do own the one with the horse head, also in EDP and that one is an absolute beast compared to this one. Homme is French powdery and "kitchen sink" perfume and the aromatic notes maintain some liveliness, as the mid and base are typical Lalique tranquil loveliness. The Lamiaceae last longer than you realise, creating a halo of cool on all that creamy, woody, mossy business, which is the main impact. A Caron kind of French perfumery. Created 25 years ago, this is not contemporary at all. Lalique Pour Homme is a timeless fragrance, but I do not recommend buying it blind. The version I tried is the EDP. Lalique pour Homme EDP is not a very versatile fragrance, at least for me, but is very different to all my collection . As I enjoy Encre noir extreme I thought I may explore other offerings of this house. I am partial to the “old school”, and classic compositions make a substantial segment of my daily wear fragrances. How does Lalique pour homme fare out?It opens with citrus, but something is fighting the citrus, I don’t know if it’s the quality of the citrus, or if it is the composition, or if it’s both. Whatever is going on gives the citrus a tart, astringent medicinal tone. Where it wants to soar, or where I want it to soar, it kind of hums, then fizzles, then fades. I think it may be the lavender and rosemary keeping the citrus tied down and soapy Instead of being effervescent. As much as certain people malign Creed, they have nailed the citrus opening (Personal favourite opening: Royal Water). When the citric opening fades, the cedar and lavender remain sprinkled with herbal notes, leaving a dusty woody floral base. Although this gets compared to Bois de Portugal, the question is: Does it stand on its own merit? You could base that decision on your goal of wearing. If, as in many instances, you are wearing it or accentuate your “aura” your style, or portray a mood, this certainly comes across as serious contender, quiet, genteel, albeit a soft projector. it’s clean, it’s inoffensive, it’s economical. BUT although it is those things, it is not much else, it is not stellar, it is not memorable. If you can wade through the astringent medicinal citrus opening, you may find yourself in a comfortable bed of Cedar and flowers. I absolutely hated the opening, it just smelled too sharp and harsh, I expected citruses but the scent was so strong that I wasn't able to distinguish anything at all. I bought this for my fella, not knowing what the scent itself is like - purely because the bottle is sooo beautiful.. He never really cared to even open it, until I did it myself..

I will wear it to special occasions in public, or at home when I want to smell something different. The opening hits you with a citrus-spicy-lavander which can be a little harsh for some, but it makes a statement about what this fragrance is about: a masculine-sophisticated classic fragrance. Some may see that as a little bit dated, but if you are 30+ you can easily appreciate this one. It is definitely not dated just because it doesn't smell like the 5th million clone of Bleu de Chanel or Sauvage or Aventus. Lalique Pour Homme is a masculine aromatic. It opens with a very abrasive, woodsy aroma, clad in a colorful suit of raw botanicals. You definitely get the Old-World feel in the composure here—with the slightly bitter, raw botanicals—and the brash, abrasive amber and woods. The pungentness and warmth seeks to leave no question to the presence of utmost masculinity.

Lalique Pour Homme EdP (Lion) is a classical type of men's fragrance with a touch of dustiness. If you appreciate this type of fragrances, you'll probably like this one. Personally I love this fragrance. For the type of fragrance it represents, it is very versatile and wearable. To some, this might sound "generic" but is not what I mean to say. The drydown on Lalique EdP maybe isnt as punching, strong or pungent as some other same kind of fragrances have, but this is a good thing. It makes this very lovely scent even more wearable - suitable for pretty much any season, any event, though at hot weather you will want to control your sprays.

I got about 10 or more hours of longevity. The fragrance sillage radiates heavy for about the first 4 to 6 hours, then it calms down, leaving a nice trail. my main doubts about this fragrance were all those comments about it smelling mature (50+), old, skanky... in the end, however, the dealbreaker was the performance. it's a brand new bottle, I bought it on Notino, it's EDP, but I literally can't smell anything after 2 hours and even in those 2 hours it's the faintest scent you can imagine. now I'm not sure whether this was reformulated or it is supposed to be weak, but those performance charts really make me wonder...After 5-10 minutes it settled and smelled a bit more pleasant, I smelled cedar mainly, little bit of lavender, but it may be, that I'm just used to the smell of lavender so much, that it doesn't stand out in the mix for me. Still smelled bit too harsh to me though. Lalique Pour Homme Lion Eau de Parfum smells like a bright, fresh, clean, effervescent, sparkling, citrus infused woodsy scent - laden with tons of vanilla. Lalique is way too sweet for my personal taste. A good daily driver fougere. Nothing spectacular and nothing out of the ordinary. This is arguably a fougere, with lavandar and oak moss in the notes, and vanilla playing the role that tonka beans might traditionally play (in fact the vanilla note might come from tonka beans… the vanilla is just barely noticeable). It is powdery, it is rich, it does draw one close. Even now as I smell it in my wrist, I just cannot get enough of it.
