18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky - The Glenlivet 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky - The Glenlivet

If you want a rich fruity speyside done right that's still pretty easy to drink, then you've found it! Here it is, the last in my series of reviews of The Glenlivet range and I’m not ashamed there were a few small tears forming in the crescent of my eye while I tasted this on. Last night I decided after a very long day of watching movies, playing video games, prepping for my wife's and I upcoming holiday to Scotland and talking whisky to crack open a sample bottle of whisky that had been sent to me. Overall Glenmorangie 10 offers an intense aroma and bold flavours while Glenlivet 12 delivers a wonderfully fragrant nose with additional oaky notes on the palate.respectively – making it an excellent choice for those looking for value without sacrificing quality or flavour complexity! We may, but are not under any obligation, to release new functionalities and tools or other features for the Service every now and then. Palate: Interesting with a cocoa / spice rub mixture dissolved in dark honey followed by roasted nuts and citrus drops.

Glenlivet 18 Year Old Auchvaich Single Cask - The Whisky Exchange Glenlivet 18 Year Old Auchvaich Single Cask - The Whisky Exchange

In 1950, the Glenlivet was to account for half of the Scottish malt whiskey sold in the United States. What really sets this whisky apart though is that you can sip it neat or pour it over ice – either way will delight your senses! You acknowledge, understand and agree that we are not obligated to review, check or monitor any Contributions, but we may do so. There was mention of the then-King of England asking for his whisky before it even became legal, and of how they fought other Speyside whisky who sought to use the name “THE” Glenlivet in their bottlings. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes or updates take effect will constitute acknowledgement and (as applicable) acceptance of those changes or updates.

Palate: Opens with the smooth creaminess and tartness of a mouth-watering limoncello, but without the sweetness. I would prefer to see it bottled at 46% ABV or higher, and without E150a (caramel colouring) and unchill-filtered, but as far as rich, rounded, sherried Speyside whiskies go, this one is pretty darned good. I have stated before that I don't care for the Glenlivet range, but I couldn't remember which ones I have tasted (12-18yr, probably; not the Nadurra; none of the older 21+yr expressions).

Glenlivet 18-year-old - Ratings and reviews - Whiskybase

I personally found the 12 year old boring and the Nadurra that I purchased was unbalanced and overly floral and sweet. Glenmorangie’s unique combination of first-and-second-fill American white oak casks give it an intense flavour profile that is sure to impress even the most discerning whisky connoisseur. I have also enjoyed the oldest whiskies I tried of both the Balvenie ( Balvenie 17) and Glenfiddich ( Glenfiddich 18) range so I was optimistic for this one. If no such law exists in a Member’s country of residence, the Member has to be over 21 years old to use the Service.

Therefore, it is not out of patience that I have waited to see how a bottle develops, but more so out of selfishness and slowness. Unless mandatory applicable law provides otherwise, your use of and membership to the Service are exclusively governed by Dutch law.

The Glenlivet 18 year old review - WhiskyRant The Glenlivet 18 year old review - WhiskyRant

The Glenmorangie 10 year old whisky is a unique and exceptional choice for those looking for an intense, yet complex flavour profile. Nose: Sweet sultanas, Sherried peels, barley sugars, toasty cereals, floral petals and a hint of apple blossom. The distillery DNA and American oak flavors are more noticeable from start to end, while he ex-sherry notes like the dates, cherries and milk chocolate are sparingly present on the nose and finish. An exquisite single malt scotch, The Glenlivet 18 Year Old has been matured for 18 years with some lovely flavours. The aroma is not immediately very interesting but if you get your nose down and concentrate a plethora of distinct hints crystallise out. This whisky has been reviewed very well, so I figured I owed it to The Glenlivet to try it, and give it a fair shake. Please read our Privacy Statement for more information on our use and processing of your personal information. One of the brand's classic and most awarded whiskies, The Glenlivet 18 is relatively easy to find and reliably produced year after year. Behind the strong green apple smell, I have managed to identify a little bit of vanilla and even toffee.
