Based on a children's book series of the same name which I've never heard of (no surprise). The first epic movie? So are there going to be sequels? If not then this title will look kinda silly no? The whole idea of a superhero character running around in his underpants is of course an old joke passed down over the generations that (I believe) stems from Superman and his outfit. You know because Superman has those red pants on his outfit which look like underpants, which kinda look like they should be under his outfit. So since that very first incarnation there has always been this silly gag about superheroes and underpants which kids have always enjoyed. Whether or not this quirky character has anything to do with that I don't know, but its a safe bet.George Beard and Harold Hutchins are two overly imaginative pranksters who spend hours in a treehouse creating comic books. When their mean principal threatens to separate them into different classes, the mischievous boys accidentally hypnotize him into thinking that he's a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants. This is a Lego set based on characters from the first few books in Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants series. My six year old son Milo designed and built it for his school Lego competition. It won the People's Choice award by a landslide.

With box office and critical success, most expected an announcement from Dreamworks Studios, saying that a sequel is in development. Alas, that has yet to happen. Dreamworks is currently working on the Epic Tales of Captain Underpants TV show for Netflix, while also announcing a spinoff film for the Dog Man book series, by the same author as Captain Underpants. Fans though, are still waiting on the news for the Captain Underpants sequel. In the meantime, here are some things we'd like to see in that Captain Underpants 2 sequel.
