About this deal

An Arco-flagellant is a specialised form of Servitor, created from an Imperial citizen who has been condemned to the capital punishment of arco-flagellation.

Servitors are created by the Adeptus Mechanicus on their Forge Worlds, and supplied to departments of the Adeptus Terra such as the Administratum and to the Inquisition, as well as to military organisations like the Astra Militarum and various Space Marine Chapters. Servitors make up the vast bulk of the population of Mars and other Forge Worlds of the Mechanicus, where they fulfill the role of tireless workers, soldiers and labourers.Custodes live up to their vaunted reputation in Kill Team. With 18 wounds , a 2+ save, and 4 APL per model, they’re walking tanks capable of making up for their small numbers with the ability to secure objectives, shoot, charge, and fight in the same turn. And if you’re feeling feisty, they can spend 1 CP on the Peerless Warriors Strategic Ploy to shoot and fight twice per turn, letting you do some truly crazy stuff.

Using a lighter shade of red, such as Evil Sunz Scarlet, carefully highlight the raised edges and details of the armor. This technique adds depth and brings out the intricate design. Apply the highlights sparingly, focusing on areas that catch the light.Sibellus Pattern Suppressor Servitor - When the Hive Sibellus Magistratum on Scintilla, the capital world of the Calixis Sector, needs to disperse crowds of rioters or belligerent hive residents, they employ Suppression Servitors to aid the Adeptus Arbites or their local Enforcers. Designed for intimidation and maximum semi-lethal force, these hulking brutes stand two and a half metres tall with a hunched, ape-like posture. Their faces have been replaced with the gilded seal of the Lord Sector, and one hand has been replaced with a massive pneumatic piston launcher capable of scattering rioters like leaves or tossing a single malefactor through the air with a crushed chest. The other arm has been removed entirely, replaced with a complicated dual weapon-attachment. The Magistratum knows that a squad of these can scatter a rampaging crowd of thousands, and they make a point of turning the instigators of these riots into the next batch of Suppression Servitors. Battle Sisters get access to a whole slew of specialisms but Comms, Medic, and Veteran are likely the three you’ll use most often on basic Sisters. I can’t imagine a situation where you’d want to waste your Zealot slot on a Battle Sister. Basic Upgrades Arco-flagellation is a method of penitence administered by the Adeptus Mechanicus but appointed by the Ecclesiarchy. It is used to punish any heresy not terrible enough to warrant immediate execution. The point of such extravagant punishments is to physically expunge the sin from a heretic's soul so that they may strengthen the Emperor when they die. [Needs Citation]

Imagine that. Your limbs removed, replaced with spark-whips and nests of claws. Eyes bored from your skull and stained glass in their places. Your heart and organs fixed with stimm injectors and neuropathic glands. And then, proud in your new body, what remains of your drooling waste of a mind will be turned to the good of the Imperium. With a word of my command, you'll willingly fling yourself into the jaws of hell, a berserk flesh-machine bound for a long, long death." Burn the Heretic (1 CP): The only way in the game to re-roll shots, but limited to flamers. Will bump you from 3.5 to 4.5 shots on average, which is handy but not necessarily the best use of CP. C+ Incendio-class Gun Servitor - The Incendio-class Gun Servitor is a favourite of Enginseers assigned to the trenches of the Spinward Front, where a gout of burning promethium can turn the tide of a battle. It mounts a flamer integrated in place of its right arm, and stores the fuel in an armoured compartment in the lower torso—a design that limits the vulnerability of such a volatile fuel source to enemy fire. When directed to the fore of the squad, the Servitor can engage its flame to flush the enemy from cover or out of bunkers, or simply roast them where they stand.

Blessed Bolts (2 CP): I like this a lot. Turn your Storm Bolter into an AP-2 D2 monster weapon. In Rapid Fire range, that’s quite nasty and threatens a wide range of targets in Kill Team. It’s a bit pricey but can be clutch in ensuring that a key target goes down. B+ The Battle Sisters offer a little more variety, with up to one Gunner per Fire Team, and one Heavy Gunner if both your Fire Teams are Battle Sisters. You can also take what appears to be an unlimited number of Icon Bearers, and one Sister Superior as a Leader. The Superior gets a pretty expansive list of equipment options – if it’s in the Battle Sister box, you can take it. It’s kind of weird that you can only take a Heavy Gunner if you have two Battle Sister team; is 5 Battle Sisters and 5 Repentia getting a Heavy Gunner really more of a big deal than 5 Kabalties and 5 Wyches with the same? Beautiful Models: The Sisters range is the newest plastic model range around and the models are fantastic! Fielding a Sisters Kill Team today probably means using the models from the new Army Set and they are a real joy to build and paint. Servitors are generally mindless, semi-organic robots, possessing only the most basic of instincts, though some are fully capable of speech if such functions and knowledge are programmed into them. Their brains are programmed to perform only the task they were designed for, whether that be maintenance, construction, or even warfare.

The one upgrade available to Battle Sisters is the Simulacrum Imperialis. This upgrades Shield of Faith saves from a 6++ to 5++, which is awesome. I would always expect to include a Battle Sister with a Simulacrum on my team, likely running either the Comms or Medic specialism to buff either my main shooter or fighter. Servitors make effective battle-line troops, but only when shepherded by a Tech-priest who can engage the raw circuitry of their minds to direct their unthinking aggression. Calyx Pattern Task Servitor - The Calyx Pattern Task Servitor is one of the most commonly seen pieces of technology in the Calixis Sector, possessing thousands of variants and sub-patterns produced on Forge Worlds across the region. At its essence, the design is for a servitor utterly devoted to performing a single technical task with the utmost specialisation. The Enginseers attached to combat regiments are often granted the use of one of a number of sub-patterns of the Calyx Servitor specifically designed for maintenance and repair of military equipment. Servo-skulls are often used by Inquisitors and Inquisitor Lords as non-Human assistants referred to as " familiars." In this case they are mentally linked to the Inquisitor through psychic or cybernetic means, allowing the Inquisitor to control them and see and hear through their augmented senses. Shield of Faith: Battle Sisters and Sisters Repentia both share this ability that grants models a 6+ invulnerable save plus a 1D6 Deny attempt. The 6++ is fine, but won’t often come into play in a game where plasma is the thing you’re often scared of as a power armour user. These are some decent buffs and a good way to use the third AP of an activation – the standard turn for a Grey Knight is going to look like “move > psychic power > shoot” or “psychic power > charge > fight,” where you’re boosting whatever action you’re about to take. With just a single team Grey Knights aren’t exactly overburdened with options, but what’s here provides a flexible team that should be a lot of fun to play. Guardian Configuration - Magi employing Redemption Servitors for specific tasks usually replace their Plasma Cutters with more formidable armaments. Solid ammunition weapons are a popular choice, as an extended ammunition feed can be stored in the Servitor’s hollow chest cavity. Up to two climbing spindles can also have Chain or Power Weapons affixed without impacting the automaton’s climbing ability. Vigilites Servitor - Among the various Servitors of the Lathe Worlds are combat patterns capable of facing and overcoming specific enemies and situations. One such pattern, the Vigilies Servitor, is uniquely equipped to destroy foes who would twist the sacred complexity of the machine towards their own corrupt purpose. Each is a fast and deadly adversary, with vat grown muscular enhancements, servo-muscular fibres, mechanical augmentations, and advanced combat protocols for a variety of threats. Highly proficient in both ranged and melee combat, these elite guardians are the physical embodiment of the Machine Cult's wrath. Ever since the introduction of arco-flagellants into Warhammer 40,000 with the release of the 54mm game Inquisitor, we have been fascinated with them. Their concept is something that represents 40k so well: taking Imperial citizens condemned to capital punishment and converting them into specialized servitors that are pumped full of combat drugs and stims to send them into a bloody frenzy upon the vocalization of a trigger word. The original 54mm Damien 1427 model expertly captured the drug-addled madness of the concept, but the 28mm 40k models always fell far short. Fortunately, better versions are being released with the new Sisters of Battle release. In celebration of this, we decided it would be fun to convert one ourselves for our Conversion Corner series!
