About this deal

A best-in-class audio interface that transforms your computer or mobile device into a fully loaded dream guitar rig. RIFF is fully integrated with BIAS FX 2 – it’s everything you need for playing, recording, and practicing guitar. Please try to update the firmware with a different computer if attempts to update the firmware keep failing. I thought that it could be useful, for both we users and for Positive Grid staff, to have a single thread that gathers and lists all the issues the users are experiencing with the Spark Amp/App. And I mean real "issues", meaning things that do NOT work properly, with the phisical amp or the app. Therefore, no delay issues, or communication issues, or tones one is not satisfied with etc. :-)

The finish is high quality and there is a leather removable carrying strap for porting it about (at 5.2 kg, it is very portable). There are channels to choose from – including bass and acoustic. The controls are familiar enough, with three-band EQ, gain, master and output.

It isn’t a perfect replacement for the effects pedals, though. Sometimes you just need that little stomp to switch from the clean to distorted channel, when playing Smells Like Teen Spirit, for instance. Of course, you have heard it all before with regards amp integration blah blah, Bluetooth audio streaming yada yada... And sure, the Spark does all that. But the Spark can also analyse a song of your choice from Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube then transpose its chords so you can play along with it.

The original THR introduced the concept of the ‘third’ amp in desktop-friendly dimensions. This MKII introduces refined modelling, optional battery power and bluetooth connectivity. The barrel plug into the amp is: outside 5,5mm and inside 2,5mm. If this doesn't fit your amp, you have a different (later?) model Aside from the headline-making connected features, this is essentially a 40W Class-D stereo practice amp. Inside sit a pair of 4-inch custom-designed speakers, and the frequency range spans from 20-20,000Hz. The sound is massive: it can get super-loud and, although the Spark Amp isn’t designed for gigging, is mighty enough to get you through any open mic night in the noisiest bars. Just as importantly, for a practice amp, it sounds great at lower volumes as well. The hype is real. The Spark is an incredible practice and recording amp, and it is very competitively priced. To be honest, we’d recommend the Spark at this price if that’s all it delivered, but once you factor in those smart features, each encouraging solo players to learn songs and stay inspired, there is no doubt that the Spark is a guaranteed home run. But there is more to it than that. Positive Grid recognises one central truth about guitar players; most of us play at home. And they have kitted out this desktop amp to provide all the features you might want from your stay-at-home amplifier.

Select a song from the millions available across a number of online platforms/libraries and Spark's app will show you the chords to songs, letting you play along in real-time. You can also loop individual sections or adjust the speed to learn at a tempo that is comfortable for you. The Spark features a large selection of realistic amps and effects which create some of the most impressive modeling tones available today. This is all powered by the same engine used on the pro level Positive Grid equipment.

TOP CONTROLS: Amp Type, Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, Master, Mod, Delay, Reverb, Output Volume, Music Volume, four programmable Preset buttons, Tap/Tuner button There are seven amp voices, which equates to to seven channels in the language of yore. You've got two for bass and acoustic guitars then Clean, Glassy, Crunch, Hi-Gain and Metal. There is a three-band EQ, gain, master volume and output. The effects each have their own dedicated controls so you can dial them in and out of your signal on the fly. Controls are on top and include style channels (Acoustic, Hi-Gain, Metal, Bass and so on) along with the EQ and effects you’d expect from a standard guitar amp: Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, Master, Modulation, Delay, Reverb and Output. These are all adjustable manually, too, meaning you don’t always need the app to play around and create great sounds. Our current first choice is the following product Positive Grid Spark Go. The absolute hit amongst Positive Grid products is the following item Positive Grid BIAS FX 2 Standard. More than 2.000 pieces have been bought from us already. You can stream songs from your mobile device and using the Auto Chord feature, Spark will transpose the songs into chords so that you can play alongA fully wireless 30-watt amp that includes a bluetooth transmitter for your guitar. Boss’s Tone Studio app offers 50 effects with COSM modelling and impressive amp voices. Simply plug the Spark into your computer via USB to access its recording capabilities. With a free copy of PreSonus Studio One Prime included, you have all you need to get started. Bluetooth, USB and AUX inputs offer all the connectivity options you need from your contemporary desktop digital. That enables guitarists to play along with any song via an embedded YouTube video, and is especially handy when also using the app as a Bluetooth speaker. The four banks of presets are arranged into seven amp types: Acoustic, Bass, Clean, Glassy, Crunch, Hi-Gain and Metal.
