About this deal

Sarah Templeton is a specialist in ADHD. Moreover, Sarah has ADHD herself and has been helping people for over 20 years. Recently Sarah Templeton has become an author, writting the book ‘How NOT to Murder your ADHD kid – Instead Learn how to be your own child’s ADHD Coach’ .

Sarah is an English Qualified Counsellor, CBT Therapist and Coach. She has written this book after working with hundreds of ADHD parents who have told her “If ONLY I’d known all this stuff while they were growing up”. Now all this information IS in one place. In an easy to read format. Skip straight to whatever issue you’re struggling with right now! Space to make notes at the end of each chapter and real life examples, straight from Sarah‘s therapy room, of what works, what doesn’t and why. I am a mom of an ADHD kid that is significantly impacted. He is honest to a fault and doesn't have violent outbursts. And he's the oldest so that means younger siblings. When he gets mad he says "Ugh! I'm so mad right I need to go sit down in my room!" As it states on the cover, this book is aimed at children from 6-18 years. One mum noted that as it is written by an American Dr, the parts on the assessment process are obviously targeted at the US way of getting an assessment. It was still regarded as a useful book to have. This book features pioneering research that provides new insight into preventing ADHD from becoming a major obstacle in a child’s (and parent’s) life….Parents will appreciate having this book on hand, and teachers will want a copy to show parents who are ready for a resource.” —Intervention in School and Clinic(on the first edition)

She has witnessed for herself how unmanaged ADHD adolescents can fail catastrophically at school, find their excitement through risky behaviour often leading them down the wrong path.

In recent months, my 9 year old son has been experiencing increased anxiety, emotional outbursts, over-reaction and complaining that he finds school boring and keeps getting told off by his teacher. Sarah clearly is an expert in her field – both with lived experience and through training and study and crucially, practice and with loads of ADHD folk and families. It’s a powerful combination. When I give presentations for parents of children with ADHD and executive skill challenges, my message to them is Most of these kids turn out fine! This book is an excellent blueprint for parents who want to make that happen. Dr. Saline is a skilled therapist who has learned to listen to her clients. This book teaches us to do the same.” (Peg Dawson, EdD, psychologist and author ofSmart but Scattered) Comments

Sarah Templeton, a therapist with ADHD herself, has written this book after working with hundreds of ADHD parents from all over the UK who have told her, ‘’if only I’d known all this stuff while they were growing up’’. So, I didn't give 5 stars overall because not all the information in here is representative of the broad spectrum that is ADHD. The author has her experience primarily with juvenile offenders and this book is skewed towards that and some parents might be terrified that their darling child will become one as well. Trust me not all kids/people with ADHD lie, steal, have violent outbursts...
