What a totally honest young man Nile is, he is a credit to British Gymnastics and to his parents, I read his book in one session I really hope his life is full of highs and he successfully changes the culture of gymnastics, I also love his YouTube channel it always makes me smile.Nile chronicles his gymnastics career from the early years, to the Rio Olympics, and all the way through to his retirement in early 2021. Nile Wilson first shot to fame in 2014, when he became the only British gymnast to win five gold medals at the European Junior Gymnastics Championships. I am so grateful to have had my wish granted for this book because Nile Wilson - My Story is a great read from start to finish. I am an ambitious and hard working person surrounded by a great team of people that are passionate about reducing the number of children on waiting lists for gymnastics around the country and world. It’s fantastic to invest in great businesses but even better when they deliver such a positive impact to the members and local communities.

We also use them to help detect unauthorized access or activity that violate our terms of service, as well as to analyze site traffic and performance for our own site improvement efforts. I knew a bit of Wilson's story from following him on Youtube so I did find it interesting to learn more about things I had just heard a little bit about. By both growing existing talent and nurturing new, we look to change both the environment our coaches work in as well as the positive outlook and focus they have for our gymnasts. I am incredibly proud of what we are doing and know that we are absolutely changing the game when it comes to participation of gymnastics in this country. Overall, the book was more revealing than I expected but that might be more to do with not really knowing much about Nile other than him being a ridiculously talented athlete.But had I not known of his social media presence before I read this I would have been disappointed that it wasn't edited better. Nile Wilson is England's most successful gymnast at a Commonwealth Games - he won 5 gold medals in 2018.

I knew quite a lot about gymnastics and Nile before reading this book as I am subscribed to his YouTube channel (I'm also subscribed to Joanna, Luke and Ash's channels too). Importantly, he finally lifts the lid on the true details behind the fall out with Leeds Gymnastics Club and British Gymnastics and how the future of the sport needs to be shaped. Nile Wilson is known to many as a Great Britain Gymnast who won a Bronze Medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and who is England’s most successful ever gymnast at a Commonwealth Games following his 5 medals in 2018. The same year, he won four medals as a senior in the Commonwealth Games and is the current Commonwealth Champion on the horizontal bar.

Nile talks through how he rapidly rose to gymnastics stardom; his views on gymnastics coaching; the enormous battles he faced with injury that eventually forced him into retirement; his battles with gambling and mental health issues; his family; and how he successfully moved into business. Nile’s voice is authentic but that simply served to show how much could have been improved with more heavy editing to improve the lacklustre writing.
