What we have here is essentially a Meze Classic lite. You get many of the great features that you get from the original model, just at a lower price. I know many people will be happy for a similar-sounding headphone as the Classics but with a bit more low-end grunt. I am one of those people. The driver from the Liric is a planar Magnetic dual Array system dubbed the Rinaro/MEZ4 system, which is easy to drive at 30-Ohms and capable of 20Hz to 92kHz frequency response. In my experkence they are fairly easy to drive nut if you want to feel the rumbly bass vibes you must use a powerfuk source. I called them out, something I hadn't done since I ripped apart my expensive Hisound Audio Studio Anniversary player. The treble distinguishes the compared headphones the most. It’s nearly impossible to find a source that will make the highs of HE-R9 unpleasant but definitely when comparing them in terms of reproduced details Liric is far ahead in front of HiFiMan headphones.

If you're someone who is working from home and needs to do a conference call or have a video call, you'll benefit from a pair of headphones with a mic. The 361 is like 371, but with less bass emphasis. The 371 has better soundstage than the 361. Since you are choosing between 770 and neo, i think you would like the 371 over the 361. So my ranking would be: 99 classic>371>770=361>neoThis is not a Bass heavy headphone and hence anyone looking for the extra boom might not like it, but if you enjoy music, you will love this headphone. First of all a great thanks to Headphone Zone to get such a great product within my reach and to Yash who helped me decide between Meze & VModa as a gift to my wife. Although a bit pricey, but worth all the money, every single paise. This is the best headphone I've had until now. You hear sounds which you might not have heard normally and it does let you hear how it was meant to be heard. Build quality is excellent throughout, and I would struggle to find something I didn't like about them. Such lightweight headphones don't feel cheap or like shortcuts have been taken. The metal headband is reinforced with gold-colored metal support connecting the bars, which also holds the elastic for the headband.

I grew up playing cello and to a lesser degree stand up bass, piano, and singing. In my late late teens I started playing bass guitar which became my primary instrument of choice. Comfort - top notch. Light to wear, disappears on the head immediately. I think I have an average head, apart of a lenghty bump in the middle which could cause a hotspot, but not with the Liric. I think I’m a rare bird in that I’m not looking for headphones to recreate a speaker-like experience. I’ve always embraced the way headphones present music. That said, things like separation, width and depth are still important to me but I’m far less concerned whether the music is “in my head” or not. Earpads are user replaceable: Video (released by Meze a good two months ago). Similar & for many reasons better than Audeze's or DCA's earpad replacement system. The Liric doesn't need a powerhouse to be driven, the Geshelli Labs Erish will get you there...but the Liric scales very well and spiritualizes the unique (euphonic) distortion characteristics some amplifiers provide. For me the Questyle CMA 400i or the Gustard X26pro + Headamp GS-X mini combo really hit the sweet spot.Burson Soloist 3XP + Composer 3XP: Brought already the Empyrean to shine, especially when the Soloist is in PowerAmp mode and the Composer is handling the volume control, so does on the Liric (even the bass pressence is a little bit on the leaner side) Let me first start by thanking Andy for this opportunity to spend some quality time with the Meze Liric. It has been an absolute pleasure. Right now I’m just using a gaming headset, Cooler Master MH 630, which I would still switch onto for something like a discord call with friends. I’ve used Razer Krakens and Corsair HS60 in the past as well. In terms of other audio devices I’ve used Jabra Elite 75t and Samsung Buds+, but I don’t plan to be using a wired headset on my phone at all. MIDS: Mid tones give lot of details and instrument separation. Sounds of pianos and guitars are lifelike. Vocals too are presented well and in detail. You can hear every whisper and breathe. They appear a bit forward of soundstage. As my scalp is very sensitive, I find it hard to keep most full-size headphones on my head for more than half an hour – but that’s not true for the Meze 99 Classics. Thanks to the suspension system and its softness, I can keep using them for even three or four hours at a time. Comfort is a very subjective matter, but if my experience is of any indication the 99 Classics are really comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. That’s mostly due to the fact that the adjustable headband is large and relatively soft, thus distributing the headphones’ weight on a larger surface and easing the pressure on the scalp, though the weight of just 260 g surely have an impact, too.
