About this deal

The kVA-rating determines the total amount of power that the device can supply at any one time, but this needn’t imply anything about how long the supply will last for. This graph is based on actual measured runtime data. All measurements were taken with new, fully charged batteries and a balanced resistive load (PF = 1.0). Actual runtimes may vary from the values of this graph. Actual runtimes are dependent on several variables including battery age, battery charge level, environmental conditions and characteristics of the connected load. Real Power and Apparent Power are related by Power Factor. Where power factor (pF) is equal to Unity (1), Apparent Power = Real Power i.e. 1000VA = 1000W. If the power factor is 0.9, then 1000VA * 0.9 = 900W. The glass is 100% full but only the kW (in this case the liquid) is useful whereas the kVA (the foam) is wasted. Typically, this relationship is 80% (a poor bartender indeed!) so the “Power Factor” is said to be 0.8. It’s very difficult to say with any precision how much time you’ll have, because of another complicating factor: the non-linear nature of a UPSbattery’s discharge. The power-capacity and the rate of discharge don’t correlate evenly; small changes in the former can produce big changes in the latter.

The load measured in Watts is referred to as the Real Power and is the total Watt load placed on the uninterruptible power supply. A load may also be measured in VA (Volts x Amps) or kVA. VA measures the Apparent Power.

Participant must not disclose any CyberPower information labeled as confidential while participating in the Program and for five (5) years thereafter. Simply put, an on-line UPS offers a higher level of protection than a line-interactive at a higher cost. You can find out more here.

The general formula for calculating the runtime available from a UPS battery is: (10 x Battery Ah) / Load Watts. The Ah (Ampere-hour) of a battery is the amount of energy (charge) stored in a battery. The Ah measures the rate of electron flow to allow 1 Amp (ampere) to flow for 1 hour. Details about the extent of our regulation by the Financial Conduct Authority are available from us on request. When choosing a UPS for yourself, start with considering where you're going to use it — for your home or office? If it's a small home or office that you need to power, then a tiny UPS will work fine. This means that whilst a UPS system can produce 100kVA of power. The equipment being powered by the generator can only use 80% of it (80kW at 0.8 power factor).
