Proshield Plus Skin Protectant is designed to be used alongside a skin care regimen to protect both healthy and damaged skin from moisture-related skin damage such as incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) and pressure ulcers. It provides a smooth, fragrance-free moisture barrier to protect the skin from urine and faeces. It gives the skin a translucent sheen, making monitoring as easy as possible for the patient. When PROSHIELD ◊ Foam and Spray Skin Cleanser and PROSHIELD ◊ PLUS Skin Protectant are used together they can help to prevent and protect the skin from IAD and moisture lesions and reduce the incidence of moisture lesions in people with IAD (Meuleneire, 2010; Flynn and Williams, 2011; Ling, 2011; Maxwell and Sinclair, 2012; Wall and Vernon, 2016).
