About this deal

Some changes have been made to make it different to watch but I must say I did prefer both the Ustinov and TV versions to this one. I saw the film at the cinema, very good with a familiar plot, this is a good version of the Agatha Christie classic and wanted to add it to my collection. A visually sumptuous and quintessentially British production, Death on the Nile won an Oscar for Anthony Powell's costume design and introduced Peter Ustinov in his first portrayal as the Belgian detective Poirot. If you do suffer this atrocity to the end, my serious advice for recovery is to watch the David Suchet version on the revamped ITVX. I had watched the first part (Murder on the Orient Express) and now have given a try to this adaptation of another Agatha Christie's classic. Whilst I enjoyed seeing this production in 4K which highlighted the 70mm filming was somewhat disappointed that they had "rewritten" the plot and left out some of the other murders and altered the ending! Extras: DVD 9, Language(s): English, Spanish, Hard of Hearing Subtitles: English, Subtitles: Spanish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, Interactive Menu, Screen ratio 1:2.A young heiress, Linnet Doyle (Emily Blunt) is murdered while enjoying a pleasure cruise down the Nile with her new husband, Simon Doyle (JJ Field), aboard a luxury liner occupied by a diverse set of extremely wealthy passengers. Now that Branagh has got these two films out of the way perhaps we can look forward to more Poirots that have not yet been filmed for the silver screen (i. What rattles my cage though is, as Branagh has done with Death On The Nile, when the woke brigade, fully aware that the majority are sick to the death of movies that tick-box, finger-wag and lecture, hijack a time-honoured classic and 're-imagine' it. The trouble with watching a who-done-it that you have seen before, is you know who and how they did it. Set in the 1930s, the film follows Poirot as he hunts a killer responsible for the murder of a rich heiress aboard a steamship travelling down the Nile. A visually sumptuous and quintessentially British production, Death on the Nile won an Oscar® for Anthony Powell’s costume design and introduced Peter Ustinov in his first portrayal as the Belgian detective Poirot. Given when this story is set, a boat full of mainly white males with their suitably period female companions is kind of what you might expect.Poirot's wealth of suspects includes Salome (Frances de la Tour) and Rosalie (Zoe Telford) Otterbourne, Doctor Bressner (Steve Pemberton), Miss Van Schuyler (Judy Parfitt) and Jacqueline De Bellefort (Emma Malin). Death on the Nile" is written by Michael Green, adapted from Christie's novel, and is produced by Kenneth Branagh, p. The direction and cinematography are both excellent and the performances are good, but overall the movie falls short of the 1978 film version. com is an Introducer Appointed Representative of Pay4Later Limited, trading as Deko, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 728646).

If he is allowed back, I predict in his next outing Poirot will be outed as a trans-something-or-other.Surrounding Ustinov are a stellar all-star cast including Maggie Smith ( The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie), Jane Birkin ( Blow-Up), Bette Davis ( All About Eve), David Niven ( The Guns of Navarone), Mia Farrow ( Rosemary’s Baby), George Kennedy ( Cool Hand Luke) and Angela Lansbury ( Beauty and The Beast, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Mary Poppins). And any straight white guys that are left behind will without fail be the inept bad guy, or as wet as long weekend in Manchester. The movie is absolutely stunning, as very picturesque, CGI-enhanced panoramas are shown quite often again, just like in the Murder on The Orient Express. Death on the Nile follows the story of a murder of a woman on her honeymoon and the assembled suspects all of who have a reason to want her dead.

However, I must initially state that the story in the movie is not an exact copy of Christie's plot. In the same way, make a murder mystery about a village in Togo, and might be a little surprised if a huge chunk of the cast were white. There are too many directorial tricks that start to get irritating after a while, but still a solid movie, worth a look. Kenneth Branagh directs and stars as Belgian detective Hercule Poirot in this US crime drama based on the novel by Agatha Christie. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places.Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled pion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement.
