About this deal

That’s old news, but the new changes involve digital fixes like the ones that were performed for the Indiana Jones series. they'll immediately strike viewers as impressive, especially on an OLED or even LCD screen with reliable local dimming. I wish it would include the deleted "I hate Pizza Hut" footage, so we didn't have to suffer the horrible jump cut anymore. But this tired debate has been milked dry due to one particular nutte…er, I mean poster in the 1080p POLTERGEIST thread. Reds and blues are noticeably superior, in particular the film's nighttime scenes as well as the extended climax that boasts striking oranges (particularly in the "closet becomes big mouth" scene).

The company has partnered with Distribution Solutions, a division of Alliance Entertainment, to ensure that retailers throughout North America will be able to carry Indicator releases.Directed by Hooper and written by Spielberg, Michael Grais, and Mark Victor, the iconic film sees a suburban couple named Steve and Diane Freeling, played by Craig T. The controversy over who’s the real author of Citizen Kane has largely been settled at this point in film history (well, at least until David Fincher tried to stir it up again with Mank), but for the last four decades, there’s been an unresolved debate about whether or not Steven Spielberg ghost-directed Poltergeist. Documentary: "They Are Here: The Real World of Poltergeists Revealed" (SD, 31 minutes) - This two-parter is about as insightful and plausible as one of those "Histories Mysteries" specials, or that weekly John Edwards "Coast to Coast" baloney. Even when the dialogue fails them, the sincerity of their performances manages to sell it anyway—Williams manages to take that cringeworthy line about Carol Anne passing through her soul, and play it with utterly believable conviction. The disc is contained in a nice book-style package that is backed-up by a nifty booklet that provides some trivia and production info on the making of the film, the cast and the creators, themselves, as well as utilising some very evocative stills.

The whizzing balls of light and the sudden whooshing gusts of supernatural activity sound fantastic and the ambience of the film is consistently buoyed-up by the rears. With the willingness to dive headfirst into any topic, blockbuster or small, Matt has covered a range of topics throughout his time at Collider. First up is Stephen’s look at Joe Dante’s The Howling, now available in a new 40th anniversary release in 4K Ultra HD from Studio Canal in the UK.

But we do have a good post today with release news, a new disc review, and a bit of a look ahead at a few new 4K UHD catalog titles that we expect to arrive sometime in the new year. Various ambient effects and background information flawlessly move between the surrounds with terrific effectiveness and without ever feeling forced or artificial. The crazy antics of the final act - all popping coffins, churning earth and razzle-dazzle effects - fill the soundscape with ear-pleasing activity, capping off a track that is an absolute joy (a nervous, heart-lurching joy, that is) to experience. The specular highlights supply a crisp, radiant sparkle along metallic surfaces and a tighter, more vivid glow around the ghostly figures and the intensely bright light from the other side while still allowing better clarity of the finer details in the hottest spots. Fans can also own Poltergeist in 4K Ultra HD via purchase from select digital retailers beginning on September 20. From the violent ending of Attack on Titan and the multiverse adventure of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to things like the lovely story of Violet Evergardenand the latest adventures of major franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Transformers, there is no story, franchise, or update that he won't be excited to explore. We reviewed the Region free UK Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Poltergeist on a Panasonic TX-65HZ1000B Ultra HD 4K TV with a Panasonic DP-UB450 Dolby Vision HDR10+ 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player.
