About this deal

The results were the same when I used the strimmer on longer grass. It left behind a neat, clean cut and didn’t clog up in the damper areas of my garden. To avoid the "memory effect" you should perform a "full recharge cycle", Run the device under the battery's power until it shuts down or until you get a low battery warning. Then recharge the battery as instructed in the user's manual. Rather than making use of strimmer cable, this strimmer cuts with nylon blades. The blades clip in and out easily, although they do feel quite lightweight and toy-like. It’s hard to imagine them effectively cutting when you first see them! The 45 cm blade is plenty long enough to shape the vertical sides of bushes evenly. There’s a 16 mm gap between the teeth, but they’re not the deepest so there’s less sharpened tooth to bite into each branch.

I was surprised to find that my Terratek strimmer came with two batteries, with each one being 1500 mAh. This was smaller than the other 2.0Ah strimmer batteries I tested – it works out to about 1.5Ah each. However, charge them both and use one after the other and you’ll end up with a longer runtime. ChargingNi-Cad batteries cannot be fully discharged (voltage below 1 V per cell). This damages the battery. With a fast blade speed rated at 1,700 strokes per minute (spm) it leaves most of the competition dead in the water. This fast blade speed helps it fly through foliage and makes short work of thinner branches. This ZFUT01BAT-3 cordless drill battery replacement is guaranteed to meet or exceed original specifications. Thanks to the enormous cable length, there’s plenty of users that can make do with this long reach pole trimmer. If you’ve got a small garden but a big tree, why spend the extra money on batteries that will eventually need replacing? Received the Makita BL1430 yesterday morning. Thank you very much for your speedie service; much appreciated.

My first issue with the cable is the colour. It’s not just an aesthetic thing, but I’m a firm believer that garden power tools need bright and noticeable power cables! Dark and hard to see cables are easily tripped over and can get snagged and cut too easily. I’ve mowed over a dark green power cable in the past and have made sure to always buy corded tools with bright orange or red cables. Hi, Your Ryobi battery prices are great and I have already recommended you to one associate and will tell others.(* Preventing the Memory Effect - Keep your cordless drill batteries healthy by fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-ion batteries which do not suffer from the memory effect. To start with, the shaft is adjustable between 95cm and 115cm, which is handy if people of varying heights are going to be using the strimmer. You can adjust the handle as well, simply by pulling a lever. The head can be adjusted too – it rotates 180 degrees.

Why You Can Trust DIY Garden

Rather like the Ryobi or the Bosch hedge trimmers I’ve evaluated, you’re relying on a barrel grip to keep things steady. Although I much prefer the “D” shaped front handle, they have at least provided ample amounts of soft rubberised sleeve to keep things comfortable. The immediate difference between this trimmer and the rest of the competition is that it’s corded. It’s a mains powered 550 Watt tool with an enormous 10 m cable, so it’s got more reach than you might initially think. If you can imagine a corded circular saw or jigsaw, there’s around a second of noise before it gets up to speed. There’s also a period of overrun when you take your finger off the trigger, which doesn’t happen with battery operated tools that switch off instantly.

Just like all other Terratek tools, this strimmer sports the brand’s signature orange and grey colour palette. Visually, it looks like a sturdy and solid tool, and its multiple design features make it appear even more impressive. There are several steps you can take to insure that you get maximum performance from your cordless drill battery: When not in use, NiCd batteries lose 1% of their charge per day. After three and a half months, the battery is completely discharged, damaging the battery.

It takes about 1.5 hours to charge each strimmer battery. This is longer than most of the other strimmer batteries I’ve used, which is surprising since these batteries are smaller. Battery Life Thanks everyone....it arrived today.....have charged the Makita 1835 and running as we speak...great service......hopefully we will do more business.....I may get another battery. Since these were the smallest strimmer batteries I tested, I didn’t expect much in terms of battery life. However, I ended up being pleasantly surprised – each battery gave me about 30 minutes of strimming time. Combined, this allowed me to strim for an hour in total, which was longer than any of the other strimmers I tested. Even though the trimmer comes in two parts, I realised I can hang the whole thing up without taking it apart. There’s a handy hanger on the handle part of the trimmer, and so long as you’ve got around 2 metres clearance underneath, you can hang the whole assembly up on a hook! It’ll save a lot of space in the shed.
