The light comes on as the oven heats – and turns off when the oven has reached the correct temperature. I was very pleased with the engineer - he was friendly but professional and very determined - I would use them again.

Heat comes from a circular element surrounding the fan at the back of the oven and is circulated by the fan.A fan symbol on its own, or with horizontal lines above and below it, shows the fan is spreading heat from the upper and lower heating elements, rather than the back. This will direct electricity back to the oven, so it's important to ensure that you've finished making all necessary adjustments by this point. In some instances manufacturers leave hardly enough wiring which can make it difficult to remove the connections.

Be careful not to let the wires slip through the holes in the back of the oven, or you'll have no choice but to pull the entire unit out to thread them back through. This means that the model number is vital to get correct and in many cases, the serial number may also be required to correctly identify parts in any particular machine so, it you are not sure, please ask for help. You should be able to make out a brand name, model number, or serial code indicating the part's manufacturer on one of the element's broad metal faces. Then, use a pair of needle-nosed pliers or your fingers to gently pull or slide the colored wires away from the terminals on the element's backside.
