About this deal
When He Reached Down His Hand for Me" was previously recorded by Cash for his 1962 album Hymns from the Heart. Over the course of five mesmerising CDs, Unearthed shows us just how Johnny Cash's now-legendary handful of recordings for American Records came to be.
Cinque stelle, anche se nel complesso il cofanetto è inferiore ai precedenti 6 LP (o cd) American Recordings dai quali trae un po' di materiale. Perhaps the biggest highlight in this awe-inspiring set is its vast liner note, a loving collection of essays and recollections that highlight the history and stories behind this eclectic array of songs. the outer box is missing, but the records look in mint condition and both books were in mint condition. Comes with a very handy, entertaining and interesting little book; quite informative and full of cool facts from that era. Many of the songs Cash recorded during the American sessions were updated versions of songs he had previously recorded.I also love the fact that this set contains a different version of the Danzig penned tune "thirteen" than the original American Recording does.
Best of Cash On American offers a memorable 15-song selection of highlights from Cash's first four albums with Rubin. The first three discs feature outtakes and alternate versions of songs recorded for American Recordings, American II: Unchained, American III: Solitary Man and American IV: The Man Comes Around. If you're a fan you SHOULD get this, and if like I you praise Cash's American Recordings era is mandatory to own it.A really nice box set, but it's a shame that they really missed the care about the records production.
