Of course a long distance relationship is a challenge and not as easy as it seems. I could relate to that part so much because I used to have long distance relationships when I was younger, the last one of them actually turning out be my husband. *lol* Anyway, this part of the book was something familiar and something I understood, the rest of the book? Well, let’s say it kind of caught me off guard. The Romantic Novelists’ Association has awarded the yearly novel of the year award to Jojo Moyes twice. Jojo Moyes is technically consider to write romance, but she likes to add in some humor and lighten things up, even add another level of emotion or tension at times. Moyes describes her writing as a fairly organic process; with the different parts kind of naturally coming together to form a cohesive whole. She does note that her most recent work The One Plus One was done with less of this style writing than any of her other works. Sinceramente me ha encantado! I’m kind of worried where this is going to head though, but I’ll be open-minded and see what Jojo has in store for me. XD Moreover, beside to learn about the new life of Lou in New York, you’ll be able to learn about the Clark family and the Traynors too. After three books (counting this one), they’re like part of our own family too, since it has been quite a journey since we meet for the first time to Lou when she was fired from the coffee shop, never imagining all the stuff that she’ll do from then on and all the incredible people that will get into Lou’s life.

He looked like Will, he talked like Will and he seemed to work in the same job as him. It’s like Jojo Moyes wanted us to give Lou a second chance at Will but then decided against it, because he turned out to be completely different than Will in the end. And that’s bullshit! Either you give our girl her second chance with a guy like Will (fate) or you don’t. Why even bring him into this book if she was bound to leave him again?! Also I don’t buy that he was totally different than Will. That might sound harsh now but I’m pretty sure Will was a lot like Josh before he had his accident. He even said as much when they spoke about his former life in “Me After You”. He was a bon viveur and he also kind of defined his life through his job! The only difference between Will and Josh was that Will had his accident and started to see the more important things of life. He began to value the small things and the overall picture instead of certain points. So in my opinion in dating Josh, Lou actually dated Will before she got to know him. It’s only my opinion though and you’re allowed to disagree with me. ;-) I just think that Will was perfect for Lou because he changed after his accident and therefore didn’t have a lot in common with the person he used to be before it. If you remember where we left Louisa in After You, and I didn’t, we left her ready to start a new job for a year working for a rich family in New York City. She was leaving her new love, Sam, the paramedic, to be the friend and assistant of a rich woman, Agnes. Suzanna meets a friend called Jesse, and things in her life begin to unravel once again. She is able to find a closure about why she was abandoned by her stepmother Vivi. Jojo Moyes depicts her characters in a dramatic yet eventful way in which the reader can feel integrated in the characters life and enjoy the novel. In her novel, she is able to balance a reflection of life before and alleviates the feeling of self-pity. Moyes uses people or conversations that she has encountered at as a starting point for developing characters, she also often uses many aspects of her own life and personality and adjust and develops and molds them until they form fully fledged characters and stories. Moyes has a full life with three children and lots of animals, so has much around her to draw inspiration thing. I laughed and teared up at this book. Moyes does a great job of a putting the character in a terrible situation where you think “Oh no, how is she going to get out of this?” I just didn’t laugh quite as hard or cry as much as I did in Me Before You. Still, this novel is worth your time.

I was so happy for her! It might have been a late coming out but better late than never and Eddie was soo good for her! She made her happy and that’s the most important thing. Even Lou’s dad who’s really conservative could see and accept that so I’m really glad that Treena and Eddie met! Plus YAY finally an f/f couple in Jojo Moyes books. XD It sure is interesting. C'mon two women- one rich and the other struggling to get by, both with problems of their own end up accidentally exchanging their bags at the gym and then the whole story revolves around a pair of heels.
