I like my rums, but can't get on with this one, I find it pungent (not in an appealing way) and harsh on the palate.However, being critical, I have to say that this rum lacks depth in flavour and feels a tad on the bland side, especially compared to a rum like Admiral’s Old J Spiced for example. With Coca-Cola the burn is mellowed out and what you end up with, is a drink that goes from being easy to consume, to ridiculously easy to consume. Cannon fodder reviewer below is off his head, Morgans rum is pretty nasty and NOTHING like expensive rums, it is about level or one notch above Lambs rum which says a lot, Morgans has an after taste of burnt caramel and burnt wood so tell me an expensive rum that does this? Then, just when you think you’ve reached peak delicious, something else arrives - just a hint of oak.Please note: You may receive one of the limited edition Captain Morgan bottles, each featuring a different name on the label: Captain Drama, Captain Banter, Captain Comedy, Captain Retro, Captain Genius, Captain Clueless and Captain Karaoke. I’d say it’s quite smooth and although there is some burn in the finish, it’s probably going to be tolerable to most.
