About this deal

Information about the maximum horizontal viewing angle, within which the image on the screen is of acceptable quality. We changed the subtype from WRGB to WOLED as it's more accurate and more consistent with other TVs. Controlling all this, and to make the A1 series as affordable as possible, LG has withheld its latest Alpha 9 Generation 4 chip found in all 2021 models above its B1 series, settling instead on its Alpha 7 Generation 4 AI processor 4K.

Much sounds similar to last year's B Series, with a step-down a7 processor rather than the a9 Gen 4 AI chip used in the C1 and G1 OLEDs. The a7 isn't quite as advanced (hence the price drop), and tends to lead to more banding and video noise in dark scenes, but it still makes for a generally favorable picture. With those four HDMI 2.1 ports providing all the ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and 4k 120Hz loveliness that a gamer could ask for, the GX is just as desirable as the CX for console-based entertainment. It’s ready and raring for the next-gen consoles to arrive.

Approximate width of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the width is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. We've heard from LG Display – the panel supplier for LG Electronics' OLED televisions – that a new 42-inch OLED is on its way, though it's yet to be confirmed for any specific 2021 TVs so it's likely to roll into 2022. LG A1 OLED specs and features The letter 'A' denotes the television series (alongside 'B', 'C', 'G', and the now-discontinued 'E' Series), while the number corresponds to the year of release. In 2019, these numbers were all '9', as in 'C9' or 'B9'; in 2020, the number became 'X' ('ten'), while 2021 is resetting to '1'. Should I buy the LG A1 OLED? For those not au fait with LG lingo, the 'A1' is the specific product number applied to this year's A Series OLED. Bear in mind that brightness peaks at a low 178cd/m2 in Dark Room mode, though, so it really is best suited to more dimly lit rooms. If you want to leave all the lights on, you’ll need to swap to the Bright Room mode (which bumps brightness up to 222cd/m2) or increase the Peak Brightness setting to High.

Information about whether there is a possibility for wall mounting according to the VESA Mounting Interface Standard (MIS). Information about whether the stand can be dismounted. Usually, this is required for wall mounting. The storage temperature shows the range from a minimum to a maximum temperature, within which storing of the display is considered to be safe.

Dolby Vision IQ intelligently adjusts picture settings based on content genre and ambient surroundings, while Dolby Atmos delivers multi-dimensional surround sound — a powerful combination that produces breathtakingly cinematic results. Dolby Vision IQand Dolby Atmos finish off things perfectly with amazing room filling sound and amazing visuals to bring the cinema experience to your living room.

Quality Smart TV At An Attractive Price

Dolby Vision content gets a nice brightness boost from the Cinema Home preset, though, and this is brilliant for daytime HDR viewing – it uses Dolby Vision IQ to dynamically adjust the overall picture brightness to suit the lighting conditions. If you're looking for a TV like no other, look no further. LG OLED TV is a work of art, a big-screen cinema, a portal to gaming worlds, and a front row seat to the biggest sporting events. It's everything you want TV to be. The operating temperature shows the safe temperature range (from minimum to maximum), within which the display will function flawlessly. Outside this range it might operate improperly and/or fail entirely. Global testing agency Intertek has confirmed that LG OLED displays have 100% colour fidelity. This means that the colours you see on the screen closely match the colours of the original image. So everything you watch looks as the creator intended.

As mentioned earlier, the GX doesn’t offer any improvement in image quality over the cheaper CX. That’s not a huge deal, however, as there’s not much to improve upon. Indeed, turn on the GX and your first instinct will probably be to sit down and start rewatching every one of your favourite movies; if you’re coming from an older LCD set, or an elderly Plasma, the sheer difference in clarity and contrast is staggering. These natural talents combine with super-wide viewing angles, a highly effective anti-glare coating and great picture processing to ensure the GX delivers pristine image quality in most situations.Approximate height of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the height is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. LG OLED TV is a joy to behold. Self-lit pixels allow truly spectacular picture quality and a whole host of design possibilities, while the latest cutting-edge technologies help deliver unprecedented levels of wonder. This is everything you love about TV — elevated in every way. That’s the cinematic side sorted, but what about those keen to engage in some next-gen gaming? Well, there’s bad news on that front. With no HDMI 2.1 ports, the LG A1 does not support 4K at 120Hz or VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), so those looking to get the most out of their PS5 and/or Xbox Series X will want to look elsewhere (perhaps the LG C1 OLED or Samsung Q80A) for their gaming goodness. Add to that the inclusion of Dolby Vision IQ to enhance images further by intelligently adjusting picture settings based on both the HDR content it’s showing and the ambient light of your surroundings, plus HDR10 and HLG support to boot, and the picture performance ought to be worth every penny of the entry price.
