About this deal

Not only are there some unresolved threads in this book, but the story ends on the most terrific cliffhanger of a plot twist, so if you prefer everything to be tied-up with a ribbon by the last page, you might feel cheated.

Once we’d handed in our papers and reverted to our true personas, I went off to tea with my pa, in Windsor. Only Time Will Tell is the first in the thrilling Clifton Chronicles series, beginning with the birth of Harry Clifton in the backstreets of Bristol in 1919. It was also made into a successful serial for BBC Radio 4, and was later televised in 1990 by the BBC. The writing flowed eloquently, and at times, maybe a little too much, but this was saved by the masterful storytelling. I still don't know if I want to read the rest of the Clifton-Saga too, because I prefer single novels. The only other man I can remember was my uncle Stan, who used to sit at the top of the table at breakfast time. A villain/bully in the hostel, and the girl's father who would go to any length to prevent the marriage.

Sometimes you read a book everyone else seems to loveLoveLOVE and then wonder if you bought the same book everyone else did because as far as you're concerned, it stank. From page one I was completely caught up in this story, following an incredible cast of characters for just over 20 years in this first volume. And I get why that is because it is a pretty straight-forward, easily read story about several families, several destinies and several points of view that entwine. You will be taken on a journey that you won’t want to end, but when you turn the last page of this unforgettable yarn, you will be faced with a dilemma that neither you, nor Harry Clifton, could have anticipated. Well I am definitely not gonna read the rest of the six books because I don't care about Harry Clifton anymore. A moment later my father got up and left the room, without even saying goodbye to Giles and his guests. I have seen books where each section tells the next part of the story, and I have seen books where each section tells the same story from multiple perspectives.
