Blue tits enjoy a wide range of natural food. But they will also much appreciate being offered extra by you. Great Tits are closer to Blue Tits in their diet than Coal Tits and love to forage for insects, caterpillars, spiders, earthworms, flies and moths. When feeding caterpillars to their young, they actually remove the intestines first, rather like your fishmonger gutting a fish! We can’t really attach signs and colourful adornments to get birds to nest in our box. We just have to be deliberate in how we position it.
