About this deal

Tadas – Flor de Cana’s press material that was sent to me seems to indicate otherwise (“Centenario 25: Ultra-premium, this full-bodied rum has had a quarter century to develop…”) but I am checking with the distillery to clarify all of this. Flor de Caña rums are born and aged at the base of the San Cristobal volcano, which is one of the most active volcanoes in Latin America. Flor de Cana Gran Reserva 7 – This is the oldest of Flor de Cana’s “slow-aged” line, its standard lineup of seven various rums.

The company originally sought to develop a large sugarcane plantation and built the first distillery in Chichigalpa (about 120km from Managua) at the base of the San Cristóbal Volcano. After building the distillery, it was not until 1937 that Flor de Caña was formally introduced to the Nicaraguan market, with Flor de Caña Etiqueta Amarilla and Flor de Caña Etiqueta Roja being the first two flavors.
