Even tho a lot of people criticize this fragrance for its performance, I tried the overspray method on my wrist(5 sprays on the same spot) and it s fairly good, I can still smell it after almost 6 hours, not very strong, but fairly noticeable at the same time. I think it’s a lovely fragrance and although it’s not groundbreaking, it smells different in the see of One Million et similia that I find a lot of men wearing nowadays.

For my money, The One EDT is a great pillar fragrance, a dependable, mass-pleasing scent that retains a lot of character and attitude. The blueprint for this scent has been copied, tweaked, reformulated by numerous new and not so new perfume houses.After being disappointed with the lasting power of the EDT version I purchased a few years back, which lasted about an hour on my skin, I decided to take a chance on the EDP despite some reviewers expressing concerns about its performance as well. Now, one week later, I fell in love with Club de Nuit Intense Man - with the actually intended smell and its fantastic longevity and sillage. Fragrance The One for Men opens with sparkling notes of bergamot, coriander and basil, the middle motes bring in cardamom, ginger and neroli, while the base notes create a very masculine trace of cedar, ambergris and tobacco. Many of the reviews indicate that this was a revelation when it was first released, unlike anything else at the time, for it gets props for that - and it explains why people who first tried this when it came out would have a sentimental attachment to this that would inflate their opinions of it. In line with that Gabbana said:"I like spicy-oriental notes and we\'ve never done these types of fragrances, it\'s a little warmer than our other men's scents".

This is one of the best smells I’ve put my nose on and one of the few I’m constantly reaching out to just to smell it directly from the nozzle and even randomly spraying it even if all I’m going to be doing is laying on my bed.Honestly speaking, though, I'd still wear this out for some October dinners, because as I said, the scent profile is still nice with its ambers and tobaccos, but my point is that it's just a bit too safe and light. The scent is sweet and boozy perfect for a night out or a winter day this is one of my all time favorites I love this more then the edp. I originally frowned upon this for being "too simple", but after several wears The One has really won me over and now I find it simply beautiful. Opens up beautifully and the dry down is equally pleasant, it's a mainstream scent with mass appeal and is a compliment getter.
