About this deal

I just installed two pieces of software (Equalizer APO and the Peace GUI), and it solved my low volume problem! My expectation was that the C01U Pro would sound significantly better. I’d love to get your opinion on how much better the C01U sounds than the Q2U in the comments below.

But a USB mic needs none of that. All of that stuff is inside the mic. And the power comes from the USB connection. You just plug the mic directly into your computer and you’re ready to record. How to fix Samson USB mics from disconnecting at random on Windows 10 by disabling "USB Selective Suspend" I'm using it on Windows 10, and it works fantastically for use in my Twitch stream, on Discord, and for recording vocals and guitar in Cubase. I have it hanging above my monitor and I often get comments on how good my audio is.Okay, let’s get to the important stuff. How does it sound? Well I have always been a fan of the C01U and its sound quality. I made several recordings of the Pro to help judge how good it sounds. Noise This is a really popular mic and for good reason. Standing about a foot tall on your desk, it’s got a great sound, is really solid, reliable, and most importantly it’s convenient. I know many of you don’t really want to bother with the whole XLR setup. You just want to be able to plug and play. If that sounds like you, then this may be a great option. What is XLR? Sadly, upon reading on the matter, you are correct, Gesu__ and there also are seemingly no easy solutions.

SAMSON C01U Pro - USB Studio Condenser Microphone with a

The USB-ready Samson C01U Pro microphone makes recording easier than ever. Just plug directly into your computer and start recoding. You don't need any bulky preamps or audio interfaces, it's all built into the C01U Pro. This is ideal for mobile recording rigs, podcasting, and more. And with recording resolutions up to 16-bit/48kHz you'll get great sounding audio every time. Whether you're recording vocal and instruments, VoIP, speech to text programs, or podcasting, the Samson C01U Pro has the features and functionality you need. Built-in headphone amp for monitoring So many people rave about its sound quality, build, convenience, and versatility. It’s really an all-purpose mic that is super easy to use. Complaints include size (a bit large), and you can’t include a standard pop filter unless you Jerry rig it. People were also saying it’s hyper-sensitive, but recording in the right environment greatly helps. My mic is old fashioned plug into 3.5mm input type that can as far as I can hear, produce decent volume at 50% without boost.I also tried it on acoustic guitar (Audio Example 2), where it again did a nice job of capturing detail, with very little coloration. I tested it on Mac, and sound quality was quite good -- in fact I used one recently for a webcast with good results. Assuming your mic is not defective, and you're not too far (or off-axis from) from the audio source, it sounds like input level may need to be adjusted with whatever utility is available within Windows 10.. Although unashamedly entry-level, the C01U is quiet and clean enough to record vocals and instruments to a very acceptable standard, provided that they are close-miked, and its performance is well above that of any multimedia mics I've tested. As far as I can tell, the subjective performance of this mic is essentially the same as that of its wired counterpart, and that model has sold well for Samson. The digital noise issue will be a concern if you have a G5 tower-based studio system, but it could be argued that anyone with such a deluxe computer should be looking for a more sophisticated mic anyway!
