About this deal

The lower frequencies are more responsive to highly conductive metals like silver. Higher frequencies are more responsive to low conductive metals like gold. Many ore producing areas have difficult ground conditions. For example, the places I usually metal detect in Utah and Idaho are known ore producing regions.

The 440 is the epitome of user friendliness, comfort and effective simplicity. It weighs a minuscule 2.6 lbs with batteries installed and the balance is very good with the 10x7 coil. The control box display is large, very readable and all controls are easy to reach and a snap to use. The Vanquish 440 comes with 5 Find Modes: Coin, Relic, Jewelry, All Metal and Custom. Each mode is pre-programmed and fully optimized to allow users the best performance. The Vanquish 440 works well in parks, fields, mountains, rivers/streams, yards, gold prospecting, and even beach environments.

What the New Vanquish Series Is About?

When you open a box with Minelab Vanquish 540 metal detector, among others, you will see 4 NiMh batteries with a charging device for them. Since this is a metal detector of the beginner level, cheaper batteries are used. Other Minelab metal detectors – Equinox, CTX use Li-ion batteries. Search Modes: you’ve got 3 (Coins, Jewelry and All Metal) and that’s it … There is no custom mode that could be beneficial once you learn the machine fully, but this remains a good thing for beginners or those who like to keep things simple. A: Both the Vanquish 340 and Vanquish 440 operate on 2 AA batteries. This makes the operating costs of the detectors incredibly low. The Vanquish 340 has a battery run-time of approximately 10 hours, and the 440 is the same. Some detectors have a higher battery life than the Vanquish detectors, but the multi-IQ technology takes more battery power.

Procedure: Tests were designed to examine sensitivity at depth, ability to separate good targets from junk, performance in dry soil and wet salt sand as well as operational stability in saltwater. The design of the Vanquish series is rather curious, and while it really reminds a device from some kind of videogame of the 80s, at least it does not fall apart when handled (like Go-Find does). Vanquish looks pretty solid. You’ll be a bit crazy professional. Since, I personally, won’t be able to dig having 5 discrimination segments in my device… Noise cancelVANQUISH welcomes tough terrain. It dominates at the beach in wet sand and salt water, outperforming other detectors that can’t compete. 12 discrimination segments deliver control over what metals you want to accept or reject. which is probably better described as switchable frequency. Switching frequency is effectively like swapping one single frequency coil for another, without physically swapping it. However, if you set Iron BIAS to Low, the metal detector will perform better when detection coins among iron rubbish. This function does provide clearer signals from coins, but during the testing process, the metal detector functioned in All Metal mode. We didn’t perform testing at various discrimination modes; thus, I’d recommend using this function with care in this case. Models Minelab Vanquish 340 Frankly speaking, I was disappointed, when I saw the novelty. It was like Garrett ACE 250, but in red. However, the reality has exceeded my expectations.

There are several reasons why I believe Minelab has decided to release the Vanquish series … And would love to share some of them with you: Display Mono LCD Specification Weight (Including Batteries) 1.2kg (2.6lb) Length Extended 1450mm (57") Length Collapsed 760mm (30") Waterproofing Coil to 1m (3 feet) Operating Temperature Range -10°C to 40°C Storage Temperature Range -20°C to 70°C Items Included Vanquish 440, the “middle brother” of the series, is more advanced in terms of features. It has four search modes – Coins, Jewelry, Relics, and Custom mode where you can choose specific settings, save them, and discriminate certain metal types. The discrimination scale is bigger, as well, which means more control over target spotting.Cons: Water resistant vs waterproof. The Vanquish control box is weather/water resistant but the coil is waterproof. To my way of thinking, all detectors should be fully waterproof if not weatherproof. Why? Ours is an outdoor hobby and even if you’re not a water hunter, a heavy rain could do a detector in if it isn’t waterproof, but that’s just the view from my foxhole. The Vanquish does come with a nice control box cover so Minelab has taken the possible pop-up shower into consideration. I have my own reasons why Minelabwill dominate the Market by this recent series of machine that I will share later in this Post …
