About this deal

Isaacs’ art is wonderfully unique and dynamic and fits the (consistent yet colorful) tone flawlessly. Don't me wrong, a group of scientists that start making porn to fund their space travel missions is entirely ridiculous but it was done in such a way that it was hilarious and also weirdly touching at times. It's very sex positive, so if you are offended by nudity or polyamory, this is not the book for you.

Unfortunately, they wind up stranded on a miniscule island on Epsilon Erudite 9, a planet that is mostly ocean. This is (I think though might be mistaken) the first comic I’ve read from Vault, a publisher I’ve heard a lot of hype for, and while not bad I wasn’t a huge fan. The original Money Shot series ran for 15 issues and was collected in three trade paperback volumes. Isaacs stated: “I think it’s really important to have more representations of sexuality that isn’t presented as dirty and shameful or exclusively fetishistic in all American media, but especially comics.

e. chromatophores) to appear as an unassuming rock until it was time give you a bit of the dicky belly with sudden cephalopod-jitsu.

The book has the same problems as erotic comics (or comix) from the 60s and 70s - it’s trying to tell a story AND be sexy AND be funny, leading to throbbing blue balls on all three fronts. Non-Mammal Mammaries: Despite being Fish People— including the squid-like Warlord Priest Daughir — the native females of Dry Reef all have anatomical parts similar to breasts. When you have a story that is so heavily centered around sex and drawing people naked you really need an artist that has a firm grip on anatomy [something which a lot of comics artists seem to be weirdly lacking] and can draw different body types or it turns stale really quickly. He's a narcissistic Capitalist who swings his dick around (literally and figuratively) wherever he goes, says and does bigoted things every chance he gets and only ever makes things worse wherever he goes.

Money Shot is about a group of scientists exploring the galaxy while trying to figure out how to make earth better. What's so interesting about this comic is that it's actually a little more tame in the sex department than I think a lot people are going to expect. It’s weird and zany and risqué and at least a little crass (an ancient alien priest uses his giant magical testicles to fight an army of evil soldiers at one point; I can’t make this up) but it’s also somehow genuine and sincere and I can’t believe how invested I was in the colorful cast of characters that Tim Seeley, Sarah Beattie, Rebekah Isaacs, and Kurt Michael Russell concocted. Annie says she expected the warlord Daughir to be bigger and scarier, and wearing an Infinity Gauntlet. Deus Sex Machina: The Fish People are led by Warlord Priest Daughir who killed the Podna Megra monks and imprisoned the last Bokai Elder, the only living master of the Podna Megra technique, an orgasm that can generate the energy release on the level of nuclear fission.

If you end up not liking it, I can personally guarantee you that I’ll be both shocked and disappointed, and where we go from there is a difficult question, since having taste that bad would preclude the possibility of civil conversation. Vault’s Money Shot is getting the trade paperback treatment this month, collecting the first five issues of the saucy series in one softcover tome.

I also sort of like that there is a love story subplot that is subtle and grows over this first volume. Which is okay, but feels a little done, as an idea, that humans are actually the trailer park denizens of the cosmos.Blue-and-Orange Morality: Cockaigne are a planet of hedonists that practice non-marital sex with wanted abandon, yet they find the actual idea of natural reproduction to be repulsive. An epicly sexy new arc begins, which takes aim at dumb billionaires and bad optics, and guest stars a LEGENDARY underground comix heroine! This book, as strange as it may seem, is less graphic but also less tasteful than many other sex-heavy plots in comics (for example Sunstone, which I’d recommend or Sex Criminals, which a lot of reviews compare this to).
