Pretty sound balance in coupling her own experiences with the essential facts for each of the species that are covered. With a third mass extinction on our doorstep, it's also very timely, and I'm delighted to see that it's been written by one of the foremost of the generation of new, young naturalists that are helping to change our perception and appreciation of the natural world.
