A fantastic evening last night at the Make UK regional dinner, for the results of the Make UK Manufacturing Awards 2023. Measuring building expansion joints for factory fabricated transitions and terminations is demonstrated in this video. Expansion joint transitions are essential for ensuring a sealed, safe, and energy efficient building envelope. Continuity of seal at changes in plane and direction, and between expansion joint systems, is achieved when factory-fabricated transition assemblies are specified and installed.

Expansion joints in concrete, steel, masonry, timber and other structures are a critical element in overall building enclosure performance. Expansion or movement joints bisect the entire structure. This means that structural as well as building enclosure materials specified to waterproof, roof, clad, and cover the structure are divided by the intersecting opening that is the expansion joint. Consequently, expansion joint openings must be filled, sealed, and/or covered with materials that restore the function of the materials bisected. The mix is soft and pliable and hence ideal for filling gaps and sealing leakages. Following the acquisition of both companies by Diploma Plc in 2019, DMR Seals became part of M Seals in July 2020. Having now worked together for two years, the company is putting the final piece of the puzzle in place, by joining the brands together under one name – M Seals. The resin & hardener are in a different, slightly contrast colour to help identify the uniform mixing. Mix thoroughly with both hands until a uniform off white colour is attained. It takes about 1-2 minutes to get a uniform mix for 50g of putty. M-Seal is a great asset to the plumbing industry and is used by plumbers, plumbing contractors, auto mechanics and households (DIY) for repair and new construction segments. We design and manufacture high-pressure engineered seals to provide OEMs all around the world with reliable high-pressure solutions for their fluid sealing applications, working up to 2000 Bar (29,000 Psi) and sometimes higher. We have a wide range of high-pressure sealing profiles for piston, rod, rotary and static face seal use where materials can also be modified for use in high or low temperatures and aggressive media and chemicals. As soon as M–seal Sanitary resin/hardener is mixed, the chemical reaction starts immediately and it is advisable to start application on clean substrate as soon as mixing is over. Spreading of adhesive is easy in the first 5- 10 minutes, whereas smoothening of adhesive surface with wet cloth is possible up to about 20 minutes from mixing. We were initially approached for replacement large diameter rotary shaft seals, but after discussions with our technical specialists about challenges with the application, we suggested a double acting solid PTFE rotary lipseal, capable of sealing 10 times the pressure of the previous seals.
