About this deal

Aglow International is called to take the Light of Jesus, to bring hope, and to build the Kingdom in all communities, cities, and nations But how does this hope and joy in Romans 5:2–4 relate to the work of the Holy Spirit? This is what Paul tells us in verse 5: “And hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.” a) The Greek word translated “hospitality” is made up of what words? (b) In the ministry, how can we demonstrate our concern for foreigners? That is the second contrast to help us understand Christian joy. First, it is not an act of will-power, but a spontaneous, emotional response of the heart. Second, it is not superficial and flimsy, but deep and firm.

In these verses Jesus compares our relationship with Him to that of a _______________________________ to its _____________________________________________.

Behave Like a Christian

Transform our lives by Your Spirit. As we are transformed, bring a reformation of righteousness in our nations. Raise up godly people as influencers in every sphere of influence in our culture. Can God command us to rejoice if joy is not an act of will-power but a spontaneous emotional response of the heart and is not a product of natural resources but a fruit of the Holy Spirit? The answer that lies on the face of Scripture at many places is: Yes, he can, and he does. Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed - not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence - continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose." JEHOVAH appreciates willing sacrifices made by his servants to express their love for him and their submission to his will. In ancient times, he accepted various animal sacrifices and other offerings. These were made according to the Mosaic Law by Israelites seeking to obtain forgiveness for sins and to express thanksgiving. In the Christian congregation, Jehovah does not require us to offer such formal, material sacrifices. However, in chapter 12 of his letter to Christians in Rome, the apostle Paul shows that we are still expected to offer sacrifices. Let us see how. The baptism in the Holy Spirit equips us for the spiritual warfare of this present age. With this baptism, Jesus' other gifts are available too.He promises that if we ___________________________________________ and He _____________________________, we will ________________________________. Pray for Aglow in your Region of the world to arise as a strength in the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. brotherly love: The Greek term phi·la·del·phiʹa literally means “affection for a brother.” Paul uses it three times—at Ro 12:10, at 1Th 4:9, and at Heb 13:1. Peter uses this term three times in his letters (once at 1Pe 1:22 and twice at 2Pe 1:7), where it is rendered “brotherly affection.” The use of this term by Paul and Peter indicates that relationships among Christians should be as close, strong, and warm as in a natural family. The phrase “follow the course of hospitality” translates a Greek expression that implies showing initiative. The New Jerusalem Bible renders the expression “look for opportunities to be hospitable.” Hospitality is sometimes expressed by inviting someone for a meal, and when this is done in love, it is commendable. But if we show initiative, we will discover many other ways of being hospitable. For one thing, if our means or our strength do not allow us to invite others for a meal, sharing a cup of coffee, tea, or some other beverage is also a way of showing hospitality.

The Bible describes the Christian's growth and development in much the same way as apples are grown and harvested. As believers, we are "planted" when we are born again into a relationship with Jesus. The Holy Spirit then lovingly nourishes and prunes us so that our lives "grow" the character traits of Christ. Scripture calls these traits the fruit of the Spirit and tells us that spiritual fruitfulness is the Lord's goal for all believers. So the answer is, Yes, God can and does command his people to rejoice. Even though joy is not controlled by our will-power, and even though it is a fruit of God’s Spirit and beyond our natural resources, nevertheless we are commanded to have this experience! Let us remember to fellowship with the Holy Spirit more and more. 5. Learn to Know the Lord's Voice Pray for nations where Aglow has not yet built a community of Kingdom believers. The nutriment that sustains this new hope and makes it grow strong is the Word of God, especially the promises. Third, let us set our minds on the biblical expressions and evidences of God’s love for repentant sinners. For example, Romans 8:35–39 says, And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ - to the glory and praise of God." The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”
