Such a pleasure to interview him for my BLADE RUNNER and ALIENS docs, and I'll forever be inspired by his visionary art. This book is an amazing catalogue of work that Syd Mead has done - I just wish it went in to more depth but then again is that not the sign of a great book that what ever they give you are left wanting more. His art is timeless, gathering it into a single place made me realise it is a reminiscence of the past, and a prediction of the future. Rendering futuristic robot technology development, artificial intelligence AI, and machine learning concept. Syd was old-school, one of the last great artists of the old 20 th-century style of professional illustration.

Syd Mead passed away on Monday 30th December 2019, and his loss has been felt deeply around the world.
