About this deal

One question I haven`t had definately answered is if I need to replace the anti roll bars. Are non ace fitted Discos fitted with heavier anti roll bars..would make sense but although should be easy to find out I haven`t yet. The process of soldering copper pipes together is referred to as ‘sweating’. Soldering offers certain advantages: it’s a straightforward process for experienced plumbers and engineers and it creates a lasting join (in theory). However, soldering is not always a practical option - in confined spaces for example. By contrast, fittings are easy to apply even without special training, do not need the application of heat, and in most cases, they can be removed and repositioned if required. How Many PSI Can a Compression Fitting Hold? Slide the compression fitting olive (brass ring) over the first length of pipe, and then lay the nut over that I really would like to have the ACE working, but not at ANY cost. Also I'm led to believe that if you do work on the pipework, you have to purge the system, which apparently is best done by the LR dealer as the vehicle needs to be hooked up to a computer for 3-4hrs while a specific sequence of valve opening and closing is effected by said 'pooter.

Sorry for the the amount of questions..getting desperate now and would really appreciate some advice. Whether you need an adaptor, a coupling, a tee or an elbow, our stainless steel compression fittings collection is suitable for connecting pipes in natural gas and LPG applications. Experience is everything for usNo matter what your plumbing installation project involves, our large selection of brass compression fittings will have you covered, from elbows and nuts to tank and tap connectors. I will be watching this thread with great interest as I've just bought a TD5, with the known fault of ACE malfunction. It had a red light (+bongs) on the dash permanently but since poking around and doing a bit of research I took out relay R14 from the engine bay fusebox and now I have no bongs and only a yellow warning light. If you are welding or adapting a system, you may want to opt for brass fittings instead. Are stainless steel compression fittings ok for domestic use? There is no significant difference. Compression fittings designed for liquid will work fine with gas but if you use optional PTFE tape, make sure it is gas grade. In addition, ensure the fittings are accessible and not hidden behind walls or under floors. Are Compression Fittings Reliable? Compression fittings consist of three parts: a nut, a ring and a seat. When the compression fitting gets tightened, it provides a watertight connection. Helping you find the right compression fitting

A compression fitting is used to join two tubes or pipes or a pipe to a fixture or valve without soldering. They are preferred when installing cold or hot water pipes or repairing gas or central heating systems. Our lead fittings collection includes brass compression coupling for joining lead pipes to copper tubes. The fittings in this range are not suitable for gas use.Similar to our imperial fittings range, our selection of metric fittings includes elbows, olives, straight couplers, and tees to be used on LPG. Giving serious thought to just disabling the blôody thing, so any info you get along those lines with be gratefully recieved I have been told by various people that's it's possible to use a nanocom and disable the ACE via the Body Control Unit (BCU), so that the car reacts normally and without any error messages.

Using a spanner, tighten the nut over the threaded head of the fitting, while holding the fitting with a pair of plumber’s grips. This pressure created by the tightening motion will press down on the olive, causing it to grip the pipe tightly. However, be careful not to exert too much pressure as this could damage the fitting or thread, making the device harder to remove or reposition Compression fittings should be tight enough to create a watertight seal but not so tight that the pipe warps or the thread is damaged as this could encourage leaks and make the fittings much harder to remove later. Proceed with caution. What Should I Do if I Find a Compression Fitting Leaking? The imperial fittings selection for use on LPG includes bulkhead coupling, compression nuts, elbows, olives, stop ends, straight adaptors or couplers and tees. If the pipe had been `dry` I believe I might have got away with `chemical metal` or similair as a repair. Our Irish compression fittings are made of brass bodies and olives. These are for use with Irish copper pipes.

Whether you need DZR fittings for commercial or residential construction, our collection includes adaptors, couplers, elbows, connectors, tees and stop ends designed for use in applications that deliver water consumption. On the subject of pipes, I wonder what pressure the ACE works at and whether it's possible to repair the system with brake pipes which are tons cheaper. They are both just hydraulic systems when all is said and done. These fittings are advantageous if you’re familiar with using compression fittings. Because they’re typically used in low-pressure systems and tend not to require a user to do any soldering/welding, they’re suitable for domestic use. Place a pipe insert into the end of the pipe to be joined. Pipe inserts, typically made from plastic or steel, reinforce pipes and keep them in a fully circular shape, making connection easier. It should be noted that this only applies to plastic pipes and not copper or steel pipes as they are much stronger

Helping you find the right compression fitting

I have been advised that serrated olives should be used but the compression fitting is designed to be used with a soft metal copper pipe..will it be effective on a hard ACE pipe?
