About this deal

If you’re using a boom as well, you’ll likely need another set of hands to help out with the recording. We're going to run you through a list of our favorite boom microphones, and afterward, we'll discuss the purpose and use cases of these devices in further detail. Without further a due, we'll get right into it, starting with the more beginner-friendly option (and a hobbyist favorite), the Rode VideoMicPro!

It's not a surprise that this boom pole made it to our list today. It's a highly popular choice on the market, it's been battle tested by many professionals, and does a phenomenal job as a compact pole. If you’re looking into purchasing a mic for video production, studio recording, or even live streaming then you’re likely going to see condenser or dynamic microphones mentioned. Its sturdy aluminum design is tough enough to endure the rigors of road use, while remaining lightweight and travel-worthy. The microphone attached to this pole is known as a boom mic, but in actuality, this just refers to how the mic is being used. Smaller type disc harrows are great for large gardens or wildlife food plots as they are able to break up sod and mix vegetation debris into the topsoil. The concave dish shape to the the discs and the way they are set on an angle makes the soil lift and mix as it’s drug through the field. This leaves a nicely prepared bed for planting.Get the best boom pole you can afford that will cover 90% of your required shots. For the last 10%, consider purchasing an additional pole now, or down the line in your sound career.

If you want clear, professional sounding audio at a reasonable cost, this might be the right microphone for you. A middle buster can also be used to trench a ditch for diverting water or even as a good start to a trench for electrical or water lines. It may only get you 10-12″ deep but by ripping the sod off and breaking up some of the subsoil it will make hand digging the rest of the trench much easier. One option to consider for your landscape rake is a gauge wheel kit. The wheels allow you to control your rake depth to keep the rake from digging down to far over uneven terrain. Replacement tines are also available should you happen to break one. Cultivator Point broadcast spreaders are useful for spreading fertilizer, pelletized lime, seed, and salt. The rotary action of the spreading disc is driven by the tractor’s PTO. The span of spread is determined by the PTO’s RPM and the flow of material is controlled by a gate attached to a lever that the operator can adjust. Some of the 3-point pallet forks have fixed width forks while some are adjustable, so be sure to match up the width with what you need to move. We have a set of pallet forks here on the homestead that is usually mounted to the Super C which holds the carry-all box for hauling firewood and also for moving the vegetable stand out to the road during harvest.A disc harrow or sometimes just called a 3-point disc consists of a steel frame that supports steel discs that chop and break up the soil as it’s pulled through a field. Although they can be adequate for short boom lengths, longer plastic booms experience extreme bowing. Because plastic booms aren’t very sturdy, the longer their length, the more they will bend. This can make them extremely difficult and exhausting to keep out of the shot. The narrow acceptance angle makes the AT897 an excellent choice for long-distance recording, though it still works great close up. I've used this one on a boom on several occasions and on-camera and found it to be highly versatile. Same as the Rode Micro, the Rode Boom Pole also features a foam grip that is comfortable to hole and minimizes handling noise. point post hole diggers have a PTO driven gear box that drives an auger bit for digging holes. Typical sizes bits are 6″, 9″, 12″ or 18″ in diameter that are usually from 32″ to 48″ long.

Technically they could be, but normally you’ll find a good selection of dynamic and condenser mics in a studio set up with omnidirectional and cardioid configurations. Introduced in March 2020 is the Panamic Distancing Pole, specifically designed for field news reporting. It’s a two section pole, 2.05m when fully extended, which, once a microphone is fitted, will result in around a 3 metre separation between interviewer and interviewee, according to how the pole is held and how far the microphone is from the interviewee. This pole is mainly assembled from existing Panamic components, so shares the excellent handling characteristics of the long established range. The best part about using a boom pole with your shotgun microphone is that you’ll capture great audio as close to the sound source as possible without being in the frame. However, working these angles is not always that simple, in my experience. I’ve worked with short boom operators who weren’t able to get the microphone out of the shot due to a short boom pole. To provide this feature, manufacturers install a tightly coiled XLR cable into the telescoping sections of the boom. By now, you should have an idea of the best boom pole for filming. The choices we’ve featured vary drastically in both price and performance. I’ve worked on so many film sets, from high school projects to full-blown productions. The choices we’ve listed for you here have been battle-tested by me & my team in real-world scenarios. The Boompole is a precision-balanced professional boompole for location recording. Machined from high-grade, lightweight aluminium, the Boompole allows you to mount your microphone securely and swivel it in a range of directions to easily follow your sound source. It has a reach of 3.3 metres and weighs 980 grams.

If you’ve seen a picture of a film set which includes a boom operator, it might seem pretty simple and obvious. Just hold the boom so the mic points at the actor. What’s the big deal? It’s important to note that these 3-point pallet forks may have a heavy duty weight rating, but a small tractor without any weight up front may not be able to lift more than 400-500 lbs. Keeping the load as close to the tractor as possible will help keep it stable. Some of the lighter built forks are much shorter to keep from getting the center of gravity too far out on a small tractor. point rotary cutters take a little research to get the right one for your application. The PTO speed and hp of your tractor, the width of you tractor and the size of the brush you want to cut must all be taken into account when selecting a rotary cutter. The tractor must be able to power the implement and also to cover the entire width of the tractor to get a nice uniform cut. Let’s go through an example for a John Deere 2036R Compact Utility Tractor: This boom pole uses the same carbon fiber materials as our top choice. It is incredibly durable (we tested it) and very lightweight. You won't have to worry about arm fatigue if you're shooting long sessions. Padded hand grips work really well, no matter what shape your hands are in. Utilizing an ultra-low off-axis correlation, the S-Mic 2 will give you that incredible broadcast sound with a linear response performance of 50Hz – 20kHz. It also works well in ambient settings, thanks to the 50Hz cut-off of the lower frequencies. The other thing to consider too is whether you should get a brush hog or a finish mower. If there is no shrubs or brush to contend with in the space you wish to keep mowed than a finish mower may be a better option as long as the land is somewhat smooth. Landscape rakes are also useful for leveling and grading soil for planting preparation. I used one when I built my house to do the final grading after the bulldozer finished the rough grade. In fact the landscape rake has many different uses such as: This standard position is great for moving the microphone around and gives you good flexibility. The big downside is the physical demand of holding the mike and pole this way for extended periods. So to save your muscle pain you can move to a less strenuous position, like this:
