About this deal

Sunngas are a good make and it should be fine. I am using cheap Asda gas canisters on mine at the moment and it works perfectly. Both the stove and the canisters are very common so you shouldn't have any problem at all. Of course Sunngas will recommend their own gas. This year, the Arizona Trail had some unique perks and challenges for thru-hike hopefuls. An intense snow year in the Southwest meant we didn’t have to worry much about dried up water sources or long water carries, and we got to see a massive super bloom in the Sonoran Desert.

FUEL - All of the camping stoves on this list run on propane, aside from the Solo Stove Campfire, which burns wood. The Gas ONE GS-1000 runs on both propane and butane. Propane is inexpensive and readily available. Most people use 1 lb. propane canisters because they’re small and convenient. These small stoves, like the Campingaz Bleuet micro stove or the Campingaz CV 270 stove, are better suited to use with smaller pans, like the Sunngas 1 person cook set , or the slightly larger Outwell Aluminium camping cook set . Stoves requiring cylinders are attached by means of a regulator and flexible gas hose These stoves are very stable, can take larger pans safely, like the Sunnflair family cook set and often, like the Campingaz camping chef include a grill. Some of these stoves include a lid and side windbreaks and some, like the Sunngas Grill master deluxe are complete with legs. These are ideal for family use. Gas for refillable cylinders are widely available. Also, you won't be able to engage the 'on' lever with the pan rest in it's 'upside down' position (a safety feature). The pan rest has to be the right way up in it's working position. We fully understand how tough it is to find trustworthy gear advice, and that’s one of the main reasons we built CleverHiker. We live for outdoor adventure, and we take these guides very seriously. Here are some of the reasons you can trust us:If you are just starting out building your family camping kit, the Coleman Classic stove is a great way to start cooking outside. The matching pair of 10,000 BTU burners are independently controlled to give you a lot of flexibility. Protected by the familiar forest green cover and windscreens, the cooking grate can hold a 12-in and 10-in pan at the same time. The removable, chrome-plated cooking grate makes cleaning easy. CONS: Slightly less compact than some, auto igniter doesn't always work (general con of piezo ignitors)

But it also left feet of snow and chest-high water crossings on the Mogollon Rim late into the hiking season - some hikers were snowshoeing that section! Primary air is drawn in under the fuel, and secondary air (to burn off the smoke) is drawn in over the fuel. The double-walled stainless steel combustion chamber provides just the right environment for combustion. The stove literally boils smoke out of the wood, then burns it! PROS: Excellent value, powerful, durable, freestanding, large cooking area, uses larger refillable propane tank (lasts longer, more economical)POWER -The more BTUs (British Thermal Units) a stove has, the hotter it burns. The average tabletop camping stove has about 10,000 BTUs per burner. That’s sufficient for most camper’s needs and provides a good balance of power to fuel efficiency. However, you may want to bump up the BTUs if you’re cooking for a large group or will be camping in cold, windy conditions.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for all of us adventure seekers - the @rei Anniversary Sale! May 19th-29th is REI’s biggest sale of the year. Lightweight & compact camping stoves: Gas ONE GS-1000, Jetboil Genesis Basecamp& Solo Stove CampfireThe MSR Habiscape was designed for families and groups who want solid weather protection and convenience for their frontcountry camping trips. This stove features two flame adjusters so different heat can be used on each burner at the same time, with 11,000 BTU available output on each burner for plenty of heat and cooking power. The side windscreens are a more minimalist style and not full rectangles, so the GSI Outdoors Pinnacle Pro 2 Burner Stove is not as ideal for cooking out in the wind. The stove also does not have a handle once it’s closed, so the carrying case (not included) is recommended for storage and transport. Just a couple of tips if you haven't used one before. It is possible to get a dodgy canister or not fit it quite right so before using the piezo ignition make sure you can't hear any hissing of escaping gas coming from the canister. If fitting the canister is proving difficult then you aren't doing it right. PRICE - Quality camping stoves can be expensive, but if you spend a lot of time cooking outdoors, it’s well worth investing in one that you really enjoy using and will last for years. We always buy the Campingaz ones now. We've tried some of the cheap brands in the past, but just feel safer buying the Campingaz brand.

Camping trips create great memories. The scent of pine trees and campfires can trigger thoughts of wonderful adventures past. The smell of crisp bacon, sizzling hamburgers and pasta sauces cooked on an Ignite camp stove bring the same kind of happy reflections.

If you are going camping for a long period and will be cooking for yourselves most days then it's more advisable to go for a double burner type stove that hooks up to a butane bottle as they will last for a very long time. You'll get several weeks worth of cooking from a butane bottle as opposed to perhaps a few days from a cannister. there has been some threads on here before about suitcase stoves and dodgy canisters with leaky valves etc. this is why i avoid cheap canisters - have always used the above campingaz ones with no problems.
