About this deal

Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. One of the hallmarks of the Nu:Tekt series is that they’re assembled by you! The HD-S kit doesn’t require soldering, and the necessary tools are included – making it easy to have the enjoyment and satisfaction of creating your own sound, from scratch. The power of three This all new effects unit has been developed by Fumio Mieda, developer of many famous legendary devices such as the Univibe. This new kind of effects unit differs from the usual “fuzz” or “distortion” pedal in many ways. The fun isn’t over after you finish building the NTS-1. The screws on the side panels are long enough to let you easily attach custom side panels. It might be a build-your-own pedal, but that doesn't mean it's difficult! Korg give you the customisation of a DIY pedal together with the convenience of a pre-built device thanks to their streamlined build process. It doesn't require any soldering and includes all the tools you'll need to build your effect. In fact, it's the fastest and easiest pedal to assemble in the Nu:Tekt series! Authentic tube tones

Created by legendary product visionary: Fumio Mieda, the Nu:Tekt HD-S is a build-it-yourself pedal that combines three different distortion circuits to deliver never-before heard harmonic distortion. Overview A wide selection of filters (Low pass 2/4-pole, High pass 2/4-pole, Band pass 2/4-pole and OPEN mode, all with resonance) give you serious control over the overall tone of the oscillator. The HD-S effects pedal combines three different distortion circuits to create harmonic modulation that goes beyond the traditional concept of distortion. When using 3rd party plugins on the NTS-1 please consult with the developer first as the content may sound differently than with minilogue xd or prologue based on polyphony. The built-in ribbon controller is handy for demoing sounds and using the Korg NTS-1 with its super flexible arpeggiator (which features several patterns). You also have the option to control and synchronise the NTS-1 with external hardware, thanks to its SYNC IN, SYNC OUT, MIDI IN and USB ports. This means you can play the NTS-1 with full-size keys or link it up with something like the Volca Beats/ Drum/ Sample/ Keys/ FM to create a cool portable rig.The contents of book sold by BJOOKS and the book that will be included in KORG’S Bundle are exactly the same however the book cover is slightly different cosmetically (the one included in the bundle has a metallic finish). In terms of stompbox-specific specs, the HD-S compiles three different distortion circuits that supposedly deliver "never-before-heard harmonic distortion". Whether that’s actually the case remains to be seen, but Korg says the HD-S can be used with guitars as well as other instruments, making it fairly flexible. The strength of this mini synth is that you can add to its onboard algorithms. There are slots for 16 additional oscillators and modulation effects, plus eight delays and reverbs. This makes it an incredibly versatile machine for synth-lovers and anyone who has a particular penchant for unusual external effects. Building tension Once you’ve constructed the synth (and finished off any customisations), you can start to play with and personalise its unique sound.

Moving onto the effects section we have Modulation, Delay and Reverb to play with. All three start off bypassed. The Modulation section has Chorus, Ensemble, Phaser and Flanger with time and depth controls. There's no frequency control over the time, you just dial between smooth and wobbly, and there's no extra parameter available while holding the button. The Ensemble effect is particularly gooey, but they all sound excellent. The reverbs prove especially suited to leads and atmospheric drones. Hall and plate are impressive staples but the special effects reverbs Space, Riser and Submarine lift this synth to another level, especially for its price. By adding pitch-shifting to the reverb tail – both upwards and down – these add a warped polish to sounds that might otherwise be a bit anaemic. With a single monophonic digital oscillator, one multimode filter, on EG, three LFOs, three stereo effect processors, and full arpeggiator, the NTS-1 is a very powerful, flexible, fun-to-explore synth.
