While you’ll start with one of two starter ships, as you climb your way up the ladder of fame and credits, you may soon find yourself purchasing ships like a modified YT-1300 light freighter or a Firespray-31 patrol craft. Next to the fame point meter is the reputation point meter for the Hutts, Syndicate, Empire, and Rebels. Each Core Worlds encounter card, like the other planetary encounter cards in the game, has two possible encounters: one for the Core Worlds themselves, and one for traveling Across the Core. Each character gets their own unique AI card to better personalize the way they are played for solo games.

The AI player does not use abilities on cards except for abilities that increase the values of their ship or character—such as a grenade launcher that gives them additional combat value—and they do not complete personal or ship goals. Should you be pushing daisies in the game, you will lose a certain number of goodies, but you’re not out of the game.This is probably the strongest part of the experience and, for a lack of a better way to put it, a welcomed one. You put your character card in a bigger player cardholder, which features categories on top (Gear) and categories on the bottom (Job/Bounty).
