About this deal

Apply the oil all over your dry face, gently massaging it into your makeup in circular motions. Spend a bit more time on any areas with heavy or waterproof makeup, such as around the eyes and mouth, but you shouldn’t need to rub too hard. After around 30 seconds to a minute, it should feel like your makeup has been dissolved. As mentioned above, most cleansing oils need to be followed up with a secondary water-based cleanser. However, one product in this range has been developed to be used on its own. The Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil can be used as a standalone cleanser, and does not need to be followed with a second cleanse (hence the ‘speedy’ in the name!) Does Kose Softymo Cleansing Oil remove makeup? Softymo is so unbelievably fab that Kose have made 3 different versions, so depending on your skins wants and needs, you can choose the perfect product for you! The Softymo lineup consists of Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil, Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil and Softymo White Cleansing Oil. The speedy oil is perfect for those who are go-go-go as it’s formulated to work in double the time.

One of the pluses of Softymo is that it rinses off easily, leaving no residue. I have found with other oil cleansers I have to really scrub to remove the oil, or it takes a long time to fully remove it… but not with Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil. My skin feels properly cleansed and smooth afterwards. The formula was renewed in 2016 to better clear pores. I don’t use heavy makeup very often, but I do use light cover foundation or BB cream, blush, mascara and eye brow products. And what I normally would do is that I remove my eye makeup first with an eye makeup remover first and then I use the oil cleanser for my face. This product does claim to remove eye makeup as well. But I really don’t think it is very effective in doing this. To use this cleansing oil, apply a pump of it to your dry face and rub it all around, then apply a bit of warm water. At this point, you should start to see some white foam appearing on your face—this is a sign that the oils and grime and sunscreen are breaking down. Keep rubbing it around your face, gradually adding more warm water as needed, and you’ll be able to rinse it all clean. Follow with a traditional non-oil-based cleanser and you’re good to go.Rice bran oil is rich in nutritents like gamma-oryzanol, which is an antioxidant. Gamma-oryzanol and other compounds in rice bran could help fight UV-related damage. It doesn’t leave an oily residue like some cleansing oils can and is also ok to use on sensitive skin. The bottle should last me about 2-3 months if I use it everyday which I think is fantastic value for money, especially compared to the other cleansing oils that are out there for double, if not triple the price! Mineral Oil, Cyclomethicone, Safflower Oil, Tocopherol, Jojoba Seed Oil, Glycerin, Water, Phenoxyethanol, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Isopropyl Myristate, Corn Germ Oil, Ascorbyl Dipalmitate, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Rose Hip Oil, Trilaureth-4 Phosphate, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Propylene Glycol Dicaprate, Orange Oil, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Rice Bran Oil, PEG-8 Glyceryl Isostearate, Coix Lacryma-Jobi Ma-Yuen Seed OilCarica (Fig) Fruit Extract, Ultramarines (CI 77007), Juglans Regia (Walnut) Seed Extract, Red Iron Oxide (CI 77491), Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Morus Alba (White Mulberry) Fruit Extract, Yellow Iron Oxide (CI 77492), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Tin Oxide (CI 77861), Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract

Kose Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil is a sure winner! I have used it for over a week now and haven’t had a single breakout. It dissolves my makeup, even my stubborn waterproof mascara in a jiffy and I’ve noticed my skin feels and looks healthier, softer and bouncy.

One of the cult favourite products in Japanese skincare! This product removes any traces of makeup (even waterproof) and goes deep into the pores to clear away any impurities without stripping the skin. The formula contains 5 certified organic oils (Olive, Jojoba, Sesame, Safflower and Shea Butter) that keep the skin smooth and moisturised. Ingredients Ideally start with dry skin! If your hands or face are wet, be sure to dry them before using. These products need to be applied to dry skin with dry hands. That said, the Speedy Cleansing Oil is advertised to work even if you have wet hands.

The Kosé Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil is a cult favourite in Japan, and makes light work of your first cleanse. Fragrance-free, this cleansing oil is suitable for all skin types.Softymo Cleansing Oil contains natural moisturizing ingredients for easy removal of facial and eye makeup. Dispense 3 pumps of the cleansing oil into dry hands and massage gently onto your face. Be sure to do this step before you wet/wash your face as the water reacts with the product to give you that deep clean. After massaging for a little while, wet your hands with water and continue massaging. This is where the product will turn white slightly to show it’s emulsifying. Rinse everything off with water to reveal your beautifully refreshed and throughly cleansed face. Other than rice bran oil, this oil cleanser also includes mineral oil. According to a study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, cosmetic-grade mineral oil does not cause acne, and in my experience, I find that to be true. However, YMMV—if you know that your skin reacts horribly to mineral oil, then you should probably avoid this cleanser. I solemnly swear to research skin care and beauty products, ask my dad (the chemist) for advice, and share those findings with you! Learn More
