About this deal

Think of the Castellum as your main hub for the raid. There are several doors you need to open from this area, each one leading to a different encounter that needs to be bested. When you finish one encounter, you’ll return to the Castellum to open another door and begin the next, unless of course you know your way around the Leviathan underbelly and have the codes. The shadow of Gahlran is the first boss you’ll be facing in Duality, and he’ll put your knowledge of the bell system to the test. When the damage phase begins, have one Guardian clear enemies from the room. They should have a super ability that is good at clearing out waves of enemies, not something that is great at dealing focused damage. You don't want a Golden Gun on enemy clearing duty is what I'm getting at. From here, the goal is to shoot the Bell of Conquest, which causes you to be teleported between reality and the mindscape. When you are in reality (the non-red version of the Leviathan) all players must be near the bell when it is shot or they will die. Runefinder: Increases the chances of finding Chalice runes in strikes, Crucible matches, and Gambit matches. Allied Guardians who also have the buff active increase everyone’s odds of earning runes.

Calus is known to use the term, "O champion mine", a similar phrase to the one used by both the Ahamkara and Worm Gods.

Duality dungeon guide

Drink” has always been a weird choice for a symbol in Vow, right? Why is it there? Why is the drinking figure holding a circle in one hand and a circle in the other? Why does the figure resembe the pose in the Witness symbol? Why does the drinking receptacle look like Calus’ chalice? And what does it mean for the Witness to “Drink the Light”, as the Prophecy Wall suggests? The primary goal in the Royal Pool is to destroy the nine purple censers that are in the middle room. The censers are separated into groups of three and are all protected by a shield that must be lowered if you hope to deliver any damage. Also in the middle room is a plate with an orb on it. When collected, this orb will provide Psionic Protection for 50 seconds, and the orb in the middle room will continue to respawn every few seconds. Power and Efficiency II (3500 imperials) – Grants an additional weekly powerful reward from the final chest in the Menagerie. Playlist activities may now rarely award Imperials.

To rationalise 1&2, I point to the final statement - "The Witness was forever changed". We know from what remains of Kabr that "the container changes the shape of its contents but the contents change the nature of the container". I think that something similar applies here. Lightfall gets criticism for its story, and while it is clear that it was not as good as Witch Queen's and I don't think anyone can argue otherwise, there are still many elements to it that are quite good in my opinion, chiefest among them being the conclusion of Calus's character arc that in my estimation is nothing short of masterful. Geometrically this is indicated by the basic Ghost design being a Sphere orbited by numerous Pyramids - with a similar configuration appearing with the Traveler at the centre during Lightfall, we’ll see if this wrings. I see Ikora’s questioning of why Guardians retain *some* of their core memories (more of functionality, how to run, fight, etc) despite Ghosts being tools of the Light and memory being the domain of the Darkness as something else in this vein. I don’t think there’ll be some big “the Witness controlled Ghosts all along, all Ghosts are eeeeevil” type reveal, but I think they - like us - contain both forces, just in different amounts. The fight against Nightmare of Caiatl is a straightforward one but difficult to finish given the various mechanics at play and the thin line between damage phase and needing to repeat the whole process. The goal is to retrieve four Standard Essences to ring the large Bell of Conquest and then use the three bells in the nightmare realm to stun Caiatl to enable a damage phase. Here are each of the steps for the fight:

Menagerie Event Guide

Once you’ve acquired the Chalice of Opulence, you can start upgrading it to get customized loot rolls, or simply get more rewards from the Menagerie and other Season of Opulence activities.

Once Calus falls for good, you’re on your own. Raid complete. Enjoy the cut scene and see you next week! As for the Witness, I think it understood exactly how damaged Calus was, and it rubbed it all over his face throughout his time as a Disciple. The Witness is very entrenched in its belief that life is suffering, and I think Calus was the perfect illustration of everything it sees wrong with life. When the Witness says that all living things cry out for Salvation, it thinks of people like Calus. The Leviathan Raid is going to be your greatest challenge thus far in Destiny 2. You'll want to have a Power Rating of at least 270 - you can theoretically participate at a lower level, but you may find it far more difficult. We also recommend bringing some of the following gear, should you have it available: Keep in mind that you will want to prepare a varied arsenal, as some of the challenges may require you to swap out your equipment loadout.

Destiny 2: Heroic Menagerie

Calus was a man capable of deep and powerful feelings, but he didn't know how to actually process them healthily, how to understand them. The loss of Caiatl's mother impacted him greatly and was probably a source of immense guilt that he drowned out with further vice rather than try and confront it, and his jealousy over his daughter showing a war beast more affection than she did him led him to have it killed. Calus expected love, and he wanted it more than anything else in the world, but he was incapable of actually reflecting on his actions and working to improve himself. The same consumable will also give other players in your fireteam a chance to earn an additional rune Each activation plate will also contain an orb that, when collected, provides the Psionic Protection buff. This orb will not respawn once the fight begins. The Psionic Protection buff will last for 50 seconds, at which point you’ll have to retrieve it again from the orb in the middle room. The orb in the middle room is the only one that will respawn. However, someone must be standing on each of the four activation plates in the outside areas to progress. In terms of weapons, Gjallarhorn remains a worthwhile weapon for boss damage and Divinity works well with the Seasonal Artifact Trace Rifle mods. Other than those, use weapons that synergize well with your build – things like Funnelweb, The Title, and Austringer.

The Witness is the 'child of Darkness' because they were 'forever changed' by their interaction with it - however they also 'birthed the Darkness' because through this interaction the Darkness was also changed - before it was only "the shadow of Darkness", but through the Witness the Darkness we know today was birthed. Go out into the large room, defeat the Cabal, and cross the gap to the other side. Find another bell in the side hallway through some pipes. The shooter who is standing on the War Dog pillar would then shoot one of the arrows that was not called out, and one of their fireteam members would shouyld the other not called out. In the example we’re running with, the Guardian on the War Dog pillar (and their colleague) would shoot the middle and bottom buttons because the course runner called “War Dog. Top.” It’s essential that you have two players shooting at the buttons at the same time.

The Invitation – Recover Imperials

After completing The Gauntlet, return once again to the Castellum to find the last door you need to access. You’ll need to once again complete the Banner event, with one team eliminating enemies and Standard Bearers and another protecting the door seal from Standard Liberators. Collect all three banners to advance to Calus. The vault encounter is not a boss in the traditional sense. But like the first boss fight, this encounter takes place in two different versions of the same room. There are two bells on either end of the circular chamber and four rooms at the four corners. The treasure map chest is located in Nessus, Cistern— go to the Well of Flame, drop inside and turn around at the teleporter. That’s where you’ll find the hidden chest.
