About this deal

George Durbalau in 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die felt it was "a piece of well-crafted, highly idiosyncratic pop" and was "in a word, inventive". Now, a key difference between them is that I actually like Zappa, because he does more than meta anti-pop - he was, of course, a top-flight composer and guitar player - but regardless, he's just as inclined to slip into the Sparks/10cc problem as Sparks and 10cc are themselves.

When you take your print out of the tube it is a good idea to let it uncurl overnight on a flat surface before handling it.Art pop is a style I usually enjoy, but I prefer it without this band's omnipresent smirk, thank you very much. Contains at least two classics, Kev and Lol’s ‘One Night In Paris’ which was going to take up one side of the album until Eric and I got the editing knife out, and ‘I’m Not In Love’. He was very good at choosing the other musicians that would work with us including the late, great Jeff Porcaro on drums and Freddie Washington on bass.

Since this along with their other 4 from 1973 thru 1977 are must own lps get the double LH master and the 1st UK. There is nothing clever, nothing funny, nothing wittily observational or brutally satirical about figuring out that pop is a trivial thing. In a 2006 interview, ex-drummer Kevin Godley said: "We'd really started to explode creatively and didn't recognise any boundaries.George Starostin, who likes them a lot, credits them with making "smart deconstructions of all possible genre cliches," and that really leads to the other problem: maybe they are deconstructing things, but they can't figure out anything interesting to do with these cliches. Good, but Weird I've seen quite a few comparisons between this album and Sparks, so I knew I had to give it a chance sooner rather than later, but I'll admit, I wasn't expecting this to be so. I don't find this to be an issue, because they do back up their claims with some solid musical tracks. And maybe the point of being a meta anti-pop band is to be annoying, because hey, you're supposed to see that POP MUSIC IS ANNOYING, MAN! It includes all possible combinations of co-writing duos between Stewart, Gouldman, Godley and Creme, which the band used to experiment and explore new creativity while making the album.

When people talk about first pressings being the way to go and don’t waste your money on reissues then that is definitely the case here. Although it has its moments, it lacks the inventiveness and spark of the previous albums, It does have a great ‘Hipgnosis’ designed cover though. The point being, that individually, these guys had tremendous street credits, all it took was for them to merge their talents and take the world by storm. The album was reissued several times with different b-sides from the 10cc and Sheet Music singles as bonus tracks. The closing track, "Fresh Air for My Mama", was a reworking of "You Didn't Like It Because You Didn't Think of It", the B-side of 1970's " Neanderthal Man", an international hit by the band under its former name of Hotlegs. It is a full-length show from their 1975 American Tour, in support of their breakthrough album, The Original Soundtrack (1975), their third official LP. Royal Mail’s service is a little slower than FedEx and other couriers, but is the only way, at present, for us to guarantee that our prints are actually delivered to a human and signed for. Interesting from front to back I feel I’ve heard of the band 10cc before, but I’m unsure where and also don’t know if I have actually heard anything by them. Eric and I really hit our stride and with our newly formed road band, including Rick Fenn and Paul Burgess, who are in the current 10cc, we went into the studio with guns blazing. Released on May 28 1974, this was the second album released by 10cc, and it proved to be their breakthrough into the mainstream.

Eric and I were on a mission to prove the nay sayers wrong, those who thought that 10cc couldn’t survive without Kev and Lol, who had now departed the band. was co-managed by Ric Dixon and Harvey Lisberg at Kennedy Street, who had represented the individual members of the band since the mid-1960s.All artwork reproduced on the site is the copyright of the respective owners who reserve all their rights.
