About this deal

Fill the bottom chamber with hot water to just below the valve. I learned late in the game that starting with hot water, around 205 degrees, works much better than cold water. BEFORE USE - We recommend that you hand wash all parts in warm water before first use. We recommend that you discard the first 2-3 brews to "season" the Moka Pot. It takes only 3 - 6 minutes, depending on the size of the coffeemaker and the intensity of heat, until it’s ready to serve. Since Bialetti is our recommendation — and the most popular brand — we’ve concentrated our size guide on their products. Wipe any excess coffee from the rim of the base boiler unit. Screw to top collecter unit to the base boiler unit and tighten.

Now choose your preferred ground coffee blend. Caution! The blend must be specifically ground for a Moka pot and not excessively fine. Either use pre-ground coffee suited to Moka, or grind your own.Add coffee grounds to the filter basket. Make sure the grounds are level but don't tamp them down like an espresso shot. As for the aesthetic, I appreciate the touch of Italian coffee history the Moka Express brings to my kitchen. The stainless steel silhouette feels timeless, not antiquated. Plus, it’s compact enough to store in a cupboard if you don’t love the look of it. The item is available in sizes ranging from one to 18 espresso-sized cups (roughly 1.5 ounces per cup), and even the largest model won’t overwhelm your kitchen. Many moka pots look very similar except for their size. The easiest way to tell what size moka pot you have is to measure the volume of water you use to fill the lower chamber. Measuring the volume of water After use the Moka Pot will be very hot and difficult to unscrew. If you wish to re-use immediately run the entire Moka Pot under cold running water until the metal components are cool enough to touch. This will make the Moka Pot much easier to unscrew.

Fill the base with water to just below the level of the safety valve. Be careful not to overfill as the air in the space between the water and the coffee filter is what heats and forces the water up through the coffee. If the water tank is overfilled the result is boiled coffee, with a bitter or burnt taste. Commonly referred to as a Moka Pot or stovetop espresso coffee maker -BIALETTI has inspired many imitations - but there remains only one true original BIALETTI MOKA EXPRESS coffee maker. Once the coffee begins to sputter (you'll recognize this immediately), remove the Moka Express from the burner and rinse the bottom chamber under cold water to stop the brewing process. Now for the crucial moment: tasting. To fully enjoy the aromas released, we advise you to drink the coffee as soon as it is poured into the cup. Loosely fill the funnel with your favourite ground coffee. (We recommend a medium-fine grind. Medium-fine will feel gritty when rubbed between your fingers, not powdery). Using a Bialetti Moka Express can be daunting to newcomers, but once you know the basics it's easy to produce a high-quality cup every time:
