About this deal

Fix is even more motivated by the reward offered for catching Fogg—2,000 pounds and 5 percent of the recovered money. A short time later, the misunderstanding is cleared up – the actual robber had been caught three days earlier in Edinburgh. Along the way they save a damsel, join a circus troop, sail through Storms, experience a violent pollical meeting, learn and reject Mormonism, all by being chased by a detective. She revealed the appalling conditions and the terrible treatment of the women held within its walls, by going undercover herself as a patient admitted to the asylum.

When he arrived in San Francisco, he would have noticed that the local date was one day earlier than shown in his travel diary. He is accompanied by Passepartout, along the way they pick up a couple of characters to form an entourage and they go through several hair-raising adve Perhaps this is the reason why some details and characters have been freely changed for this new version. I think this book is a real classic and is a very enjoyable book to read as there is a twist in the end that would surprise many people.Other characters Fix (a stalking policeman) and Aouda (a rescued Indian damsel) are amazingly created colourful characters too. And, of course, Verne lived in a time of momentous innovation – railway routes were being laid around the world; across America and throughout India. Thus, the day he added to his clock throughout his journey would be removed upon crossing this imaginary line. I doubt that Ethan would be such an impassioned Africaphile were it not for his time spent in Ghana.
