About this deal

Didn't help the RMS leak on the Xterra. Maxlife slowed it down a bit. For those with success, do you have to put it in ever OC?

Thanks for the reply. I do not have any seals at the moment that need attention, just making good use of the winter here to improve my skills and equipment. As a Hail Mary to get it over a time period before junking it okay but personally I am afraid of these type of products on anything worth keeping. Mostly I think similarly to Trav. When you DIY repair, you shake your head at all snake-oil solutions. You know things wear and there's no miracle-gro for metal wear. Compatible with conventional and synthetic oils, ATF, gear oil, power steering fluids and hydraulic oil AT-205 Re-Seal is a fast, effective and safe stop-leak for all rubber seals and gaskets. The exclusive formulation restores worn or dried out seals and is not harmful to internal bearings and components.Heard a lot of positive comments about AT-205 for helping with oil leaks (admittedly it is a bandaid). I tried it a older Regal with really nothing to lose. I know everyone just dumps the whole bottle in but I followed the directions. I didn't notice any difference maybe a little but I honestly couldn't say. A year later I tried Bars stop peak concentrated and while it didn't completely stop it did make a noticeable difference. Our servers are getting hit pretty hard right now. (one can swap a minty slightly used EZ36 with new rubber gaskets for less than that). I used it on my Montero. It came highly recommended. I used it when I changed the oil. It initially stopped leaking. But, after a one hundred miles it started leaking again. When I went to a 0W40 weight oil and the rear main seal stopped leaking. Although my leak was very minor only a couple drips, no more.

Essentially, a great performing sealer can save you time, money and give you peace of mind keeping fluids out of the engine after noticing a bad leak, engine overheat or white smoke coming out your exhaust pipe. The only time we should hand it over to a professional mechanic is when there are underlying problems diagnosed after the attempt of an easier solution. Just because a bad gasket is a crucial and labor intensive work, it means there are no other options left to prevent your engine from being taken apart. There are! I know my car’s head gasket has a rubber-like coating on it, so this is when ATP AT-205 Re-Seal Stops Leaks was recommended to me. What’s Special About ATP AT-205 Re-Seal Stops Leaks?Methyl Salicylate and alcohol looks good, but appears to need a long soak and therefore disassembly. AT-205 looks like it works with a spray application. That said, I tried this stuff (once) because of what I read on BITOG of it being not a miracle product. ATP has released 25 new numbers in the Powertrain category including Automatic and Manual Transmission Shift, Detent, Accelerator and Clutch Cables, along with Automatic Transmission Flexplates and a Manual Flywheel.
