About this deal

Others have mentioned of course that Lisa's feminism is not very inclusive, as she only discusses those of us who were born with a womb - and dare I say it white. This also seems so far behind the intersectional, inclusive feminism I feel very much a part of and it was difficult to ignore this.

A unique blend of nourishing movement, breath work, ritual, sound + somatic practices created + curated to support, resource + work with the rhythmic intelligence of your body. Online + in person workshops + retreats + training in 2024. A witch is a woman in her power. She’s wise, a healer, someone who is aligned with the cycles of Mother Nature and the phases of the Moon. Yet for so long, the word ‘witch’ has had negative connotations – being used as an insult, a slur and to perpetuate fear. In this book, third generation hereditary witch Lisa Lister explains the history behind witchcraft, why in past centuries the word ‘witch’ has led women to be tortured, drowned and burned at the stake, and why the witch is now waking once again in women across the world today.Discover and work with five different aspects of the witch: the Force of Nature, the Creatrix, the Healer, the Oracle and the Sorceress. Between each call, visualize a bright white light coming up through the soles of your feet, through your knees and into your womb space. Let it rest there before calling in the next one.

THIS Woman. Knowing that how it is for me, will be different from how it is for you, but recognising that there will be themes + threads + that, let’s face it, IT’S ALL SACRED.I host workshops, curated experiences andimmersions worldwide and offer 1-to-1 counsel + support in person andonline via Zoom/Skype. ANOTHER NOTE: I often get asked, specifically in response to my books: ‘why SO MUCH womb talk? Am I less of a woman or witch without a uterus?’ Also, I’m a Scorpio, I have the asteroid Ceres in my 1st house square pluto, so death, sex, crisis + rebirth and all the so-called taboos that lie in between, are actually known territory for me. I mean, you don’t have to bring any of those things to session/workshops/immersions, but please know that you can. Why do we have to remember that we are powerful? Why have we forgotten? Why do we remember, then forget all over again? Why do we have to wake and reclaim the witch now more than ever before? Patriarchy."

Understand, work with + leverage the cycles + rhythms of nature, your body, the moon, Venus, Chiron, the asteroid goddesses + the cosmos very much an embodied practice Lisa describes here. This has led the book to be criticised for it's narrow definition of woman - and I've seen Lisa being called a TERF (trans exclusionary radical feminist) by some. I'm not totally sure how I feel about this.As an intersectional feminist I do

The ideal reader of this book is a natal female, still in her bleeding years, who has an interest in witchcraft, but not a great deal of knowledge or experience. Even better if she's at a place in Lisa Lister is a badass leader of all things feminine. She is here to shine a light on all the shadows of patriarchy that we have all inherited. Witch is a book whose time has come and a response to the feminine that is rising within us all. Rise sister rise.’

the practices shared here. I enjoyed it, and I've been walking a witchy path for almost three decades now. Well-woman + womb yoga therapist. Womb + Rhythmic massage practitioner. Menstrual awareness practitioner. I edge walk + I hedge walk. I’m a seer - I see stuff. I’m a tarot reader + a sky reader. I work with the cosmos + her stories to understand + map the terrain of the landscape we’re navigating on earth + in our body. As above, so below. I grow herbs + make teas + tinctures, play drums + tambourines + dance + move my body to heal, support, journey, vision + celebrate. This book will help women to remember, reconnect and reclaim the word 'witch' and its power. It provides an overview of the many different versions of witchcraft and their core principles and practices, and shares ancient wisdom made relevant for waking witches, including how to:

Pages

A woman who is powerful. You bleed for five days and don’t die: don’t tell me that doesn’t make you a superhero.” You definitely DO NOT need a womb to be a witch or to be a woman, I celebrate the womb as a place of power, medicine + magic because doctors threatened to ‘whip mine out’ + I've worked really bloody hard to heal her + love her + to recognise the power I hold there + I want to support those who have had similar experiences to do the same. I only ever speak, teach + share from personal experience + wouldn't DARE try to be a spokesperson for EVERYONE, but of COURSE you can be powerful, be a witch AND be a woman without a womb - abso-bloody-lutely.
